not that loud in london, but it depends on the line your on. also doors open and close much quicker and the buzzer sounds while the doors are closing (on the central line anyway)

In Manila:

* LRT Line 1: first-generation trains have a long beep, while third-generation trains have a series of beeps
* MRT Line 2: series of beeps
* MRT Line 3: long beep
* PNR Southrail: long horn and short horn for diesel multiple units (locomotives don't have this)

If it's rush hour and the trains are packed on the LRT and MRT, passengers are asked to stay clear of the doors and take the next train.

Its been forever since anybody has posted to this forum but it still shows up on google search and I've been looking to see if anybody else agrees with me that the JR kawasaki to tokyo music is a lot like agua's "Barbie world" song ... I'll add the link as well for your referances.
