I hope we get new renders soon (with the more centered spire), the ones at SOM are frickin' tiny.

Are you sure about that? There are no foundation rebars sticking out of the bottom. Maybe what they are doing now is just preparation of the concrete platform which they will use for drilling the foundation piles? Well I'm just guessing here. I remember the only places when there were no classic piles and rebars sticking out of the ground were the constructions where bedrock was close to the surface because then the technique is different I guess (actually it was just one tower - india tower). So what is the soil in busan? Soft or bedrock? Besides that, do we have any confirmation that the foundation is done?

On the previous page it says they are constructing a MAT foundation, so I guess thats why everything seems a bit different. Will be interesting to see the MAT foundation built, never seen this method before.....

So it seems as there will be no piles at all, just thick concrete slab, right? Interesting indeed

Doesn't it affect the vertical stability of the building? What will stop it from toppling over?

The raft (MAT) foundation is used when there are weak soil conditions.

I've never seen a building with a triangular core before, although I'm sure there must be others. Anyone know of one?
