Another frustrated Hungarian !!!
French architects have designed the National Bank of Romania and hundreds of other buildings in Bucharest & Romania. Do we have known to say that French have built Bucharest?!?! Don't you realise you're ridiculous, some of you Hungarians? You live/dream of a past empire which wasn't even yours. Was led by Austria from Vienna ... and you were just part of it. Remind me what Hungary has done on its own ?!?! Its fair to say that not much. Certainly less than what Romania has achieved on its own

That's what everyone says. Funny how posting a link would be interpreted as "hitting".

So if Romanians were so good at building cities before 20th century, why don't I see the same concentration of historic cities in other parts of Romania as in Transylvannia?

I can, also. Practically, we were pretty much an independant nation, however.

@ Ataman
Romania had been constantly occupied by at least 3 empires over the centuries. Transilvania was "lucky" to be under Vienna's influience. So Hungary ...

So were we. On the other hand, we don't have a shortage of historic towns.

So the Austro-Hungarian empire wasn't too bad at all.

(I am not saying it was good for you either).

Many of the historic cities in Transylvannia were built during the medieval ages, before the Austrians (or even the Ottomans) came.

Yes by Dacians/Romans first and then by Germans ... and polished by Austrians - the same empire Hungary was under remember?

Then why are the number of medieval centers outside of Transylvannia so small? Dacians inhabited those parts, too.
