according to the news it is the 2nd largest in the world

Akmerkez, Istanbul

Akmerkez Shopping Mall is the only retail facility which won both the "Best Shopping Mall of the World" (1996, 1999, 2001) and the "Best Shopping Mall of Europe" (1995) awards from ICSC.

I live close to Akmerkez, trust me, in person it's way more stunning at night than on those pictures. The first time I saw it, it blew me away.
