Good that Davao got a brand-new airport. I don't like the exterior design though, looked very provincial.

Really?! I've read lots of stories about the mayor's style and what he has done, but on new year's eve NO FIREWORKS?!?! Hehe there is nothing wrong with that but that statement clashes so much when thinking "Philppines" and "New year's eve!"

Davao is one of asia's most livable city, no. 18 in fact (highest in the country) ranked by asia week. Cost of living very low, even the poor have land, all amenities of civilization exist within a 30 min driving radius to the center
The airport looks much better from a distance, makes more sense, and even if it does not have the most expensive materials they've been able to produce a very well designed , usable building. |

iv got pics sana... d ako marunong magpost... im new here...well, the airport design is malay-inspired... davao is influenced by its neighbors indonesia & malaysia... davao is fusion between phils & the rest of asean... a melting pot that is... other attractions: mt apo national park, eden nature park, malagos garden resort, seagull valley ... like baguio temperature here ranges from 10-20 degrees.... like boracay, there are beaches in davao... in samal island... in talikud island... in ligid island... ideal for snorkelling, scuba, kayaking & kayating... malls abound... sm city, gaisano mall, nccc & victoria plaza... night life is not boring... the venue, one of the country's biggest party place... matina town square, where ethnic meets hiphop... rizal promenade... actually madami rin... paano ba magpost ng pics? im idiot...

![]() ok lang yan, first u have to upload ur images sa isang free image server, i.e. www.photobucket.com (u have to create an account first, it's free). then u have to copy the URL, yun ang ilagay mo sa image tag pag nagpost ka ng message dito. usually sa photobucket nakalagay sa baba ng image na inupload mo yung tag including url so madali na lang yun. it looks something like this: [img]http://[/img] so yun

Davao City 911
It is the only kind in the country that operates a state-of-the-art sophisticated mapping and emergency dispatch system developed and donated by the private electric distribution utility Davao Light & Power Co. (DLPC) It was launched last September 27,2002. The Concept. The concept of the Davao City 911 evolved from the long-standing partnership between Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and DLPC whose objective was to help realize the Mayor’s vision to improve the peace and order situation in the City. The idea was to put together an unbeatable combination of the city’s resources and state-of-the art technology and expertise of Davao Light & Power Co., (DLPC) in computerized mapping and emergency dispatching. After seeing the City’s acquisition of 36 brand new mobile police units, DLPC Executive Vice president and Chief Operating Officer Alfonso Aboitiz saw the opportunity to boost the capability of the mobile police units to effectively and efficiently respond to emergencies by sharing DLPC’s strengths in computerized mapping systems and emergency operations. The Computer system used The Davao City 911 used the software called Emergency Computer Aided Dispatch (ECAD), a sophisticated computer program developed by DLPC and designed to locate the caller and the emergency service providers with pinpoint accuracy anywhere within the city. The ECAD is a customized version of the original computerized mapping system of DLPC called “PowerOne”. It was originally developed to accurately locate DLPC’s franchise, which include even the smallest alleys. The Davao City 911 ECAD system does not contain the names and addresses of the DLPC customers. The ECAD tracking system… The ECAD tracking system works by using as key reference, the network of DLPC’s electric poles that have been identified and plotted in a computerized mapping system covering its entire franchise area. The map is divided into several grid partitions for XY grid coordinates using assigned unique alphanumeric codes. For ease of use for both the computerized and printed versions, the entire map is broken down into several pages. The method is both accurate and efficient because the program pinpoints the exact location. Beginning September 2002, these grid codes, called DLPC Location Codes, are now printed in the upper right hand corner of DLPC’s billing statement to serve as quick reference in cases of emergency.
