The glassy entrance building isn't that noticeable when seen in person. That white blunter next to it is much, much worse.

At least it does not face the square. However, it still looks like it can be 'fixed' much more easily than they greyish-blue block as seen in the last pic.

Exactly my thought! I really do like the glass building.

What I don't like is the dark gray colour of the building underneath that stair.

This one is finished as well. It's not as bad as I thought it would be but... still a piece of crap.

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan. The middle building looks odd and out of place!

A tiled roof would help to minimize its ugliness.

Incredible! three floor: a ground level and a double-mansard!
Sorry but this one is really out of place...

What stood there on the place of the building in the middle before WorldWar2?

An old photograph of it was posted already in this thread before. I would say that the reconstruction especially of the corner building is nicer than what was there before the war. The weird building in the middle was not really more attractive before the war either, merely older. A traditional red tiled roof might have made a nicer impression however.

I don't know...the more I look at it the more I feel it looks like sh*t. The initial idea looks ok but the execution just seems poor.

A wrecking ball would do a much better job.

It's indeed uglier than expected. We have to hope for Quartier VII to hide this sore thumb soon.

Yes, it's very second rate but I suppose because of it's size it doesn't intrude too much on the beauty of the streetscape but it's another example of total poverty of mind some of these so-called "modernists" display.

Kind of like throwing a towel over the puppy's mistake.

Anybody have a picture of what used to be there before the war?

Well, if you ask me, this is the first one that is not ok, after soooo many other ones! And it will be in the small street, barely visible. Its not that bad, like some modern... something... windows... well, its not that bad!
