It's really laughable...they try to build something modern and they fail...again and again.

Whoops, my bad. Thanks

I have to disagree, however, with your assessment of the old building being no more attractive. Plain it was, but at least it fit in with the surroundings.

The new building looks as out of place as mustard on an ice cream sundae.

The building in the middle of the block was equally funny shaped, plain and looked poor. Sure, that can make a quirky charming old town if everything looks like that. But the surrounding was pretty, baroque and regal. That one building certainly did not fit very well into that at all.

I still like it because gave some nice contrast, like a splinter that does not quite fit into fairy tale baroque overflow. The new building is very similar in this regard, but as I said, with more traditional red tiles it would have done a better job.

Good lord that's ugly! Maybe we'll get lucky and in 10 or 15 years someone will remodel it or just level it!

It would look better with some kind of Sgraffito, like in the upper part of the building. It would look like a modern interpretation of the small Renaissance houses you often see in Bohemia or Austria. But that's not very Saxon.

It's a ugly building but hopefully the buildings that will be rebuild will hide it a bit.....
