The Zwinger is coming closer to completion.

The groundfloor is still under construction

The foundations are still worked on the inside.

bilderbuch

By the way: The money for his majesty did not come from taxes alone. It came mostly from his businesses. Porcelain manufacturing made most of the money. Johann Buetcher invented the Porcelain/ China because the Chinese guarded their secret! All European Porcelain making originated here in Saxon. Saxon made so much money, that everyone started spaying on them, or tried to lure their staff away.

The Zwinger has three collections inside. One is about original Chinese Porcelain and the very first European made China/Porcelain.

Star designer Peter Marino, from New York, usually designing upper class shops in expansive cities designed the Porcelain exhibition. You can see the inside.

Wow, Zwinger looks weird this way. I got used to its blackened appearence. I hope they'll also replace the copper, they should finally let the whole building age normally, and also, it would look weird with some pavillons having new, black copper and some green and oxidized one.

Does anyone know when the whole Jüdenhof will be finished?
And what about the completion of Rampische Strasse and Landhaus Strasse?
Once the projects are finished, hopefully with old styles, Dresden's downtown is almost complete.
I would love an arcade between the two above mentioned streets with shops like in many other cities just before the police station.

That is funny, just heard info about that today. The plot between Rampische and Landhaus Strasse has been sold to one! big investor. The plot was sold from the province of Saxon. Unfortunately no one demanded a reconstruction of all building facades. The investor, witch makes no sense, is not after the expensive rebuild stucco condos. They like to rebuild what's mandatory by the 2003 plan. The first plan included flat roof buildings. Realtor agencies and the famous Neumarket society have already spoken to big money and have conformation that the roofs at least will be glad in Tiles (Ziegel). More talks are on the way. 200 Condos they plan.

The blue requires rebuilding with original material and technique. The
red surrounded requires original looking façade and the rest, almost all small buildings can be modern.

]

They are refusing to rebuild the red surrounded plot, too.
This one:

because they don't like the firewall to the Police HQ on the right.

This is from the investors and Neumarkt newsletter
It has a birds view of above. ridiculous. It has been improved twice already.

Hi,
the buildings from the "Quartier Jüdenhof" will be finished between Sommer and autumn 2016. But you can walk around the finished Jüdenhof and Q VII.2 by Arstempano already today! More than twenty 360° Panoramas are finished and connected. In the next days and weeks I will complete the Neumarkt from Schloßstraße to Rampische Straße in this manner. What will happen in Q III? I think the Palais Hoym, Landhausstraße 3, Rampische Straße 4 will be built; maybe Landhausstraße 13, Rampische Straße 6 and the Palais Riesch; the rest will be designed in modern Style, I think. Palais Hoym's gardenhouse will definetely not be rebuilt.

Best Wishes Andreas

Hello,

in the bauticker from arstempano are some pictures from the basement of the dinglingerhouse / jüdenhof and we have a new gallery with Renderings of Q III.2 Rampische Straße / Landhausstraße.

I wish a happy new Year and for arstempano success, that we can do many many new renderings from old buildings in dresden ;-)

Here some impressions:

This Quartier will become either the best, or the worst one, based on investor's decision. It already sucks that they won't reconstruct the courtyard of Palais Hoym.

Yes, they will! The courtyard will come:

They won't reconstruct the garden though...

That's what I meant, but I didn't notice the garden was separated from the courtyard, soooo, my mistake...

As I understood, the reason why they won't reconstruct the garden is the wall of the Police Station. I think if that's the only problem, they can always cover it with plants or something or even hire some good street-artist to paint it, it would be interesting to see baroque townhouse with contemporary street-art.

Having an ugly wall is not the problem, the problem is: They want to get more space and money out of everything and so they want to build houses along the wall...on top of the garden.

Quartier III-2 | Models, renders by CG-Gruppe - released Dec 2015

If you make the quite expensive decision to reconstruct baroque buildings, you have to compromise somewhere... I think the gardens won't be impossible in the future, not sure they'd be enjoyable in this constellation though. Anyway, I'm more than happy about the Hoym's courtyard.

This is what the proposed Quartier III-2 looks like from above in the plans:

/by CG-Gruppe

And in general the investor CG-Gruppe went for rather sensible and modest designs for the buildings at Quartier III-2 that won't be reconstructed, which can be seen here - actually it's much more than we all hoped for at this spot (even some mild attempts at historicising facades):

http://www.dnn.de/Dresden/Fotostreck...2#n13732759-p1

And here: http://www.stadtbild-deutschland.org...596#post212596

Another overview model here, with focus on Palais Hoym (showing a situation before the Police HQ was built):

Source: http://www.arstempano.de/typo3temp/pics/c158cc22cf.jpg

More impressions:

At Rampische Strasse. We all root for Palais Riesch to come back there, the "backside" of Palais Hoym.

R4 is a reconstruction, R2 to the right is a historicising new design by Pfau Architekten from Dresden (call me amazed)!

At Landhausstrasse.

L3 is a reconstruction, the rest are filler designs.

I'm a little worried about L15 there, clashing so badly with the neo-renaissance Police HQ next door.
They should modify this design or create another one.

But of course then there's the magnificent, the magic Palais Hoym, filling a large swathe of the whole block!

Additional courtyard renders three posts before this one.

All from: CG-Gruppe / http://www.dnn.de/Dresden/Fotostreck...2#n13732759-p1

Another good thing about all this is, that it's all individual facades and actual single buildings.
So two or more facades aren't combined to get more floorspace out of it, like in some other quarters (QI and QII, partly). And that means, reconstructions of further single facades are much easier to accomplish in the future, probably even without tearing down a building, just changing the facades.

I'm quite sad to see so many new designs, I was really looking forward to Rampische Strasse, which would've become the most beautiful street in the whole city. Also, I wonder why it has so many new designs, in former Quartiers they were usually building modern buildings on plots that were occupied by rather dull buildings without many ornamentation, and here almost all buildings were ornamented and maybe the finest in the whole city.
