And now, Ladies and Gentleman, some updates still back from the 6th of June. The pictures have been made and given to me by DAF forum member Elli Kny. He lives in Dresden and takes lots of pictures. So, here we come....

This view will be impossible soon, due to the "Moritzhaus"

Pictures from the 22nd of June.

And this is the Bonus picture: The all-letter-stone on the "Hotel de Saxe". This plage has all letters of the alphabet in it.

Pictures are from Elli Kny, thank you!

Hello everyone!
In Germany it is very common the have different "open days". The most one known is this year on the 10 of September and is Heritage Architecture day with thousands of Heritage buildings open for public, including private ones. There is also every year a different theme like "Unwanted memorials" 2015 or "The art of wood" 2014 and so on. I think this year the theme is going to be "Architecture for use of power"
Anyway, Dresden had a open Architecture day just now, but a normal one. Many owners had their places open and guess what I got for You.........pictures!

We go in this building. The corner still has a couple of apartment open for rent.

The passage inner court. The painted windows toward the Neumarkt.

The Hotel lobby. We see an elephant!?

Finally - upstairs with a view towards quarter 7.1 "Schlossstrasse" and "Schlossquartier",aka quarter 8.1.

This is a well priced hotel room with inner court window.

This is a large suit corner of the "Trierische Haus". It is 10,- Euro more than the normal room with 95,- Euro instead of the 85,- Euro. Apparently, it was tricky to get the flat screen in, too.

One can see all sites!

pictures from Elli Kny.

The lifts with white hallway. Stairs towards the court.

This is the view from the last full floor. In the view we see the Dinglinger corner.

Triersche corner.

Glass for the private apartment and hotel

the hallway is from the hotel. This was supposed to be the spa. The hotel changed the planes.

The court. Can you see the camera man?

Thanks, Elli Kny!

Lets take some pictures from the later private corner before all units are rented.
This apartment goes all the way to the "Beuthlersche Haus"

The Altmarkt. The Stalin Baroque buildings at the Altmarkt.

Towards the Neumarkt. Btw.: The beige building straight houses the museum of traffic. You know, cable cars, boats, first busses and trains.

residential. For Rent.

Parquet flooring.

The rooftops. This time one floor higher!

Thanks, Elli Kny!

Those are wonderful!
I especially appreciate the interior shots, looking through windows into the cityscape. They give a heightened sense of 'being there'

When is the new quarter, i.e. the one that will largely cover the Kulturpalast, scheduled to be completed? Also, which other quarters are under construction/planning at the moment?

Hey, SonOfThomp! I have a treat for everyone. More indoor picks!

Nighttime, Christmas time.

Reconstructed Salzgasse. We don`t hear much about her lately. Mostly offices. One of the first streets finished. Located right by the Frauenkirche.

Under the palm trees are real sheep.

Inside look into the "Ugly House" with the Kaffee, the "café Sinfonia"

Pictures from Elli Kny!

More inside looks. This time the "Dinglinger" house. I believe that everyone is burning to see at least one of the recycled basements!

The basement:

Gothic Door! Gothic happened here from 1240 to 1500.

Upstairs in the restaurant "Vapiano kaffeehaus". Funny the overgrown wall on the left.

Thanks, Elli Kny!

The lamps had to be handmade, because the originals where made 100 years ago

Thanks Elli Kny!

City hall and Altmarkt:

The streetlights are a little primitive, too.

Fresh redone:

One inner court. With new glass lift for the new fire code.

Thanks, Elli Kny!

The old lamps from the 70`s. Not any more! An improving move!

Other parts in restored 60`s style at the city hall`s open door day!

The event room.

Thanks, Elli Kny!

The mayors round table for hard core action:

Out the window:-) We see the rebuild "Gewandhaus" and the little street called "Kreutzstrasse". Build in 1950`s. The "Kreutz quarter" is known for many restaurants.

The "Pirnaischer Platz" square. Here used to be the city wall with a gate to the town of Pirna.

The inner court:

Thanks, Elli Kny!
