@ Skymino
The houses are not torn off the next years. Are first before pair of years were completely redeveloped. Unfortunately

@ ALESSANDRO
Now I cannot write this to you at all everything. This would be too much. However, I can assure you that Dresden and the surroundings has to offer a lot of worth seeing. I have German Thread where I almost all places of interest describes. Call in, nevertheless, simply sometimes there. You have the link in my Avatar !

The German version is ready, the English version, unfortunately, not yet!

I'm very impressed with this reconstruction!
Can you tell me if the city/government is the investor here, or private companies? Is it possible to buy a flat or the are only for rental? If the apartments are for sell does anybody know the m2 price? I'm just curious.

I'm also impressed by that what passes thus everything at the new market

The properties mostly belong to the city of Dresden or Saxony. And there are different investors, for example:
  • Diakonie-Stiftung Martinshof Rothenburg (Quartier Heinrich-Schütz)
  • Arturo Prisco (Quartier an der Frauenkirche)
  • Baywobau (Quartier VIII)
  • Hapimag (Hotel Stadt Rom)
  • V.V.K. zu Dresden (Quartier II/1)
  • Jürg Köllmann and Fibona Investmentgesellschaft (Quartier II/2)
  • TLG Immobilien (Quartier IV)
  • USD Immobilien GmbH (Kurländer Palais)
Now these were a few investors of the new market.

If you have a lot of money on your account, you can rent either to you a flat, or buy to yourself a flat. However, at the moment it is in such a way that the flats are already sold before, before is generally built.

i cannot undestand why everything is being rebuilt in a "pastiche" style. Looks like disneyland. I understand that they rebuilt the church, some original elements have been reincorporated, etc. but this new buildings looking like old ones, so sweet and perfect....
there's for sure a lot of talented architects in Germany that would have made the whole thing look better. why rebuilding old buidings. does it make any sense?
so kitsch

This deals absolutely nothing with Disneyland.

As an outsider you must also not understand. It is simply a heart's desire of many inhabitants of Dresden, Saxony and German that a little shine returns from former times.
From Dresden has not been left a lot after 2 world wars. So one would like to build up on some places the old buildings again anew. So that the world sees what has got lost.

Sadly, modern architects aren't talented enough to create urban spaces which people truly enjoy. Just look at the modern buildings around the Neumarkt. They are by far the blandest, dullest, most boring buildings you can imagine. Anyway, in a couple of years time, the colors won't be as pungent and everything will look even better.

Because those old buildings are beautiful. Plus, modern buildings can be built on places where there is/was no historical buildings. You dont have to sacrifice anything.
