Great Updates - Thanks! Will be interesting to see how long the Kulturpalst will last, by the sounds of things there is no plan to tear it down - how unfortunate.

I think they're actually going to put a new concert hall in it. If only it had been built in the "Socialist traditonist" style of the Altmarkt buildings.

Looks very isolated.
Can someone explain the base of the building where the 'collums' meet the ground. Is it protected against moisture?

Each time I look in this thread I'm amazed how much good work has been done in Dresden. Even though there are some buildings that could have been done better, the general impression is very positive

Are you sure you don't mean isolated? After all this area is essentially surrounded by post-WW2 architecture.
