This is an article that was published this year ...

Selfridges - the coolest building in the world? Mar 11 2005
By Staff Reporter, Birmingham Post

Birmingham's iconic Selfridges store is one of the coolest buildings in the world.

That's the verdict of best-selling fashion magazine FHM's Collections which has compiled a list of the ten coolest buildings in the world.

Four of them are in Britain and include the Bullring's flagship department store which has revitalised the image of the city across the world.

The magazine's commissioning editor, Paolo Righetti, said: "We are fascinated by great design and thought it would be good to combine our love of fashion with our love of good architecture so we got a panel of architects together and thrashed it out until we came up with this final list.

"Selfridges, the glittering superstore, which is a famed shopping haunt for many celebrities, adds a glowing focal point to Birmingham. The building got into the top ten because of its sheer impact."
Selfridges, Birmingham

I'll say one of three

Burj Al Arab - I think it sums Dubai pretty well

Turning Turso - It looks like it shouldn't be possible

Chrysler - Stunning, iconic building. They also seem to like destroying it in movies.

Burj Al Arab is definately up there too.

As for Burj Dubai, it is just tall - not particulary good looking and definately not one of the "coolest" buildings in the world.

I would say that the Twins are most coolest b/c it was so rare to find two building at that height, plus they were known as "Soaring Towers".

Swiss Re is another Dick like building. But it definitely is better a better looking structure than the one in barcelona.
My bet? Turning Torso or Burj Al Arab

Dont want to picky, but that's the Lloyds of London building home of the insurance market - nothing to do with the bank.

Of what i have seen up close:
1. Seagram
2. Chrysler
3. Bank of China in HK
Old plans and models for new Frank Gehry Gugenheim New York looked cool (was this shelved?)
Wood Street and Lloyds Register in London
Swiss re
