The Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth, UK is pretty cool....and not very well known either

Liberation Tower ,Kuwait City ,Hight 372M
the effective construction period was only 67 months.Construction started in 1987 and was halted because the Iraqi invasion. The work continued in 1993 and the tower was officially opened on 10 March 1996, hence the name "Liberation Tower"

I don't get how a free-standing structure can be cool when it's not an actual skyscraper to begin with.

there is over 40 of them scattered all around kuwait in group of 5, there were build in late 70's and early 80's

My suggested building is not exactly a skyscraper but is definitely the coolest, not only the exterior but also the interior:

1) Casa Batllo, Barcelona

Then genuine skyscrapers:
2) Bank of China, HK
3) Turning Torso, Malmo
