To me, being cool means being able to stand out from your surroundings without being tacky...I think Trump World Tower just sits there with a certain aire about it, the most confident looking building in the world

some cool buildings that I think have been forgotten here:

1) The Eden project..

2) The sphere building

3) frank ghery - the dancing building

and no tower I think is "coolest" more than calatrava's montjuic tower

Are you seriously saying that it's better than any scraper built after the year 1900? I sure hope you meant to say 21st century.

One of my favs... not a well-known building to many.
Someone told me this was Angelina Joulie's headquarters
in "Mr. & Mrs. Smith". This is 570 Lexington or the GE building...

Beautiful attention to detail....

Beautiful Lobby

Even the Subway stations incorporates the Art Deco architecture

The topic is COOLEST buildings....do I think Burj Dubai is the best, most original, most important, a great example of international, futurist, brutalist, etc...NO -- but it is the coolest...

I mean really, my favourite scraper of all time is Met Life Tower, but is it the coolest...NO WAY....

So I am not saying it is better by any means....just COOLER...get it...got it...

Good ;-)

I love that building too....some other classic Art Deco scrapers in New York for me are (some are demolished):

St Paul Building
World Building

Park Row and Chanin Building (for its simplistic style in an age of gaud)

Anyway I agree with you that some of the best scrapers are in NYC...however are they COOL....I mean think of it this way: when you think of a cool car does a Model T come to mind, or a Rolls...no they are classic and great cars....but you think cool cars you think Ferrari, Lamborghini etc

Thats all I was trying to get across
