Thai PBS ปรับอัตลักษณ์และทิศทางรายการปี 54 "Thai PBS…ทีวีที่คุณวางใจ"
นายเทพชัย หย่อง ผู้อำนวยการ ส.ส.ท. แถลงข่าวปรับอัตลักษณ์และหน้าจอครั้งใหญ่ พร้อมออกอากาศด้วยระบบ HD เน้นขยายฐานผู้ชมคนรุ่นใหม่ด้วยรายการที่มีสีสันและหลากหลาย

องค์การกระจายเสียงและแพร่ภาพสาธารณะแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.ส.ท.) จัดงานแถลงข่าวปรับอัตลักษณ์และชื่อเรียก Thai PBS พร้อมสโลแกน "Thai PBS…ทีวีที่คุณวางใจ" เมื่อวันจันทร์ที่ 28 มีนาคม 2554 โดยมีรายการใหม่ที่มาเพิ่มสีสันและความหลากหลายเพื่อขยายฐานสู่กลุ่มผู้ชมคนรุ่นใหม่มากขึ้น และในเดือนพฤษภาคมนี้ Thai PBS ย้ายที่ทำการใหม่พร้อมออกอากาศด้วยภาพคมชัดเป็นพิเศษในระบบ HD (High Definition) แห่งแรกของฟรีทีวีในประเทศไทย

นายเทพชัย หย่อง ผู้อำนวยการ ส.ส.ท. กล่าวว่า "ในโอกาสที่ ส.ส.ท. ก้าวเข้าสู่ปีที่ 4 จึงมีการปรับปรุงเนื้อหาและรูปแบบการนำเสนอรายการต่างๆ ให้มีความเข้มข้น มีสีสัน และเข้าถึงกลุ่มผู้ชมที่หลากหลายมากขึ้น เพื่อสร้างความเป็นสื่อสาธารณะให้มีความโดดเด่น ในเวลาเดียวกันก็จะปรับอัตลักษณ์ของ ส.ส.ท. ด้วยการใช้ชื่อเรียกองค์การให้มีเอกลักษณ์และมีความชัดเจน ที่ผ่านมาผู้ชมเรียกเราว่า "ทีวีไทย" ซึ่งอาจทำให้เกิดความสับสนทำให้เข้าใจว่า เราเป็นสถานีโทรทัศน์แต่เพียงอย่างเดียว ทั้งๆ ที่บทบาทของเราครอบคลุมทุกสื่อ เพราะฉะนั้นเราจึงควรใช้ชื่อและอัตลักษณ์ ที่สะท้อนบทบาทของ ส.ส.ท. อย่างชัดเจน และที่สำคัญก็คือบทบาทของ ส.ส.ท. ไม่ได้จำกัดอยู่แต่ในประเทศไทยเท่านั้น เนื่องจากเราเป็นสื่อสาธารณะแห่งแรกของเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้และมีนโยบายที่จะผลิตข่าวและรายการ ที่สะท้อนความเป็นภูมิภาคอาเซียน คำว่า PBS จึงเป็นชื่อที่เหมาะสมที่สุด และคำว่า PBS ย่อมาจาก public broadcasting service เป็นคำย่อสากล ที่คนในวงการสื่อสารมวลชนรับรู้ทันทีว่า หมายถึงสื่อสาธารณะและ
เมื่อมีคำว่า Thai นำหน้าเป็น Thai PBS ก็จะเป็นการประกาศตัวทันทีว่าเป็น สื่อสาธารณะของประเทศไทย"

นายเทพชัย กล่าวต่อว่า "ขณะนี้ Thai PBS ถูกมองว่า เป็นแม่แบบของสื่อสาธารณะในภูมิภาคนี้ และในปี 2555 Thai PBS ได้รับความไว้วางใจจากสถาบันพัฒนากิจการวิทยุโทรทัศน์แห่งเอเชีย-แปซิฟิก (Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development หรือ AIBD) ซึ่งมีสมาชิกกว่า 120 องค์กรทั่วภูมิภาคให้เป็นเจ้าภาพจัดงาน Asia Media Summit (AMS) ซึ่งเป็นงานประชุมสุดยอดด้านสื่อสารมวลชนแห่งเอเชีย โดยจะมีสมาชิกเข้าร่วมกว่า 800 คน เพราะฉะนั้นชื่อ Thai PBS จึงสอดคล้องกับการก้าวสู่ระดับสากลขององค์การ"

ในโอกาสที่ก้าวเข้าสู่ปีที่ 4 ของ Thai PBS นายเทพชัยอธิบายเพิ่มเติมว่า "จะมีการปรับโฉมหน้าจอ ซึ่งรวมถึงกราฟฟิค โลโก้ และเพลงประจำสถานี ตลอดจนเนื้อหาและรูปแบบของรายการที่ยังคงมีความหลากหลายเข้าถึงทุกกลุ่ม แต่จะมุ่งเน้นไปที่กลุ่มผู้ชมคนรุ่นใหม่มากยิ่งขึ้น "ผมคิดว่า ทิศทางเราชัดเจนที่ต้องการเข้าถึงกลุ่มคนที่หลากหลาย เป็นสื่อที่คนในสังคมให้ความเชื่อถือ มีรายการที่ดูแล้วไม่มีพิษมีภัย ได้ความรู้ เท่าทันต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงของโลก เราจึงมีสโลแกนเพื่อรองรับแนวคิดนี้ว่า Thai PBS…ทีวีที่คุณวางใจ" นายเทพชัยกล่าว

โดยในปี 2554 นี้ ทิศทางการนำเสนอข่าวของ Thai PBS จะปรับทุกช่วงข่าว ให้เหมาะสมกับกลุ่มผู้ชมแต่ละกลุ่มผู้ชม จะต้องได้เนื้อหาและมุมมองที่นำไปปรับใช้กับชีวิตประจำวันได้อย่างเป็นรูปธรรม เน้นเรื่องความเป็นธรรมในสังคม การทุจริตคอรัปชั่น ข่าวจากกลุ่มประเทศอาเซียน และจะให้ความสำคัญกับการรายงานข่าวเตือนภัยด้าน ดิน ฟ้า อากาศ ความเสี่ยงภัยของสังคมเมือง อาทิ อุบัติเหตุ สภาพอุตสาหกรรมเคมี โรงงานอุตสาหกรรม ที่รวบรวมจากฐานข้อมูลหลายแหล่ง เพื่อเตรียมความพร้อมให้กับประชาชน มุมมองในการนำเสนอข่าวมุ่งเน้นให้เกิดประโยชน์กับภาคประชาชนมากขึ้น โดยจะขยายกลุ่มเป้าหมายในการนำเสนอข่าวช่วงวันหยุดสุดสัปดาห์ ที่ตอบสนองกลุ่มเยาวชนและครอบครัว โดยยึดแนวคิดในการนำเสนอแบบมีเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะของทีวีสาธารณะ คือ นำเสนอข่าวที่มีคุณภาพและมีคุณค่า

ในส่วนของรายการนั้น นายเทพชัยเปิดเผยว่า Thai PBS จะนำเสนอรายการที่ผลิตโดยผู้ผลิตอิสระที่มีความคิดสร้างสรรค์ และสามารถตอบโจทย์ของสื่อสาธารณะได้อย่างดี ในไตรมาสที่ 2 ของปีนี้ ก็จะมีรายการสาระบันเทิงที่แปลกใหม่ เช่น ซิทคอม 3 คน 3 Gen, ซิทคอมท่าประชา, รายการประกาศภาวะฉุกคิด, รายการคนละดาวเดียวกัน, รายการหลงกรุง, รายการดอกรักบานแฉ่ง (Sex room), รายการฉันจะเป็นชาวนา, รายการเด็กมีเรื่อง, เกมส์โชว์คุณเลือกได้, รายการพื้นที่ชีวิต, อาเซียน โฟกัส

ไม่รู้ว่าจะออกอากาศแบบHDได้เต็มที่หรือเปล่า เพราะเคยได้ยินผู้บริหารช่อง3 บอกว่าต้องรอกสท.หรือกสทช.ในปัจจุบัน มาทำอะไรสักอย่างตามขั้นตอนกฎหมาย เพื่อให้ออกอากาศผ่านระบบดิจิตอลซึ่งประหยัดคลื่นได้มากกว่า ซึ่งจะทำให้1ช่อง เราจะได้ดูหลายๆช่องซ้อนไปอีก เช่นมีช่อง3 ก็จะมีช่อง 3/1 3/2 3/3 เป็นต้น

actually I stopped using my free trial use True PVR boxes cause I dont record anything and got those little True HD boxes instead..they are great

The HD sports channel on 111 and the HD HBO channel on 112 are awesome and super sharp (the True Coffee channel on 113 is good if you want to fall asleep fast).....just wish they get more HD movie, TV series and music video channels soon!!!!

next month, Im also gonna get little wifi wireless USB adaptors to plug into my LED TVs to get streaming US channels internet TV from a Linksys(Cisco) wireless router I just got (with True Hi-Speed 10 Mbps connection). hopefully it streams smoothly, but we will see...

anybody got those?? are they good??

I think HD is overrated, very good pic but that is all. I am looking forward to 3D TV and 3D channels. Any plans on 3D channels in Thailand soon?

I'm still not very happy as we now timeshift almost every TV shows. We tend to be eating outside during the prime time. BUT I still want HD, so we ended up having two receivers, the HD one in our kitchen.

HD HBO is probably the only channel worth watching. I cannot wait until they have STAR HD / ESPN HD or even AXN HD. Those other two channels are quite trashy to be honest. Coffee Master is a big marketing failure, and the True Sports HD channel is full of re-runs of something not so important.

HD channel consumes too much bandwidth (4-5 SD channel for 1 HD channel on 1080i/p AVC).

So true will definitely not offer Free channels with HD for now.

MCOT to air HD satellite TV

MCOT Plc, the listed broadcaster of Modernine TV, has rented a new K-Band satellite transponder on Thaicom 5, aiming to provide up to 10 satellite television channels in both standard and high-definition (HD) video.

President Tanawat Wansom said the company had spent 150 million baht renting the K-Band system transponder since midyear as part of a plan to enhance its new-media business in addition to the C-Band transponder it uses now.

Via the new transponder, MCOT plans to broadcast its own channels in HD and will also rent out space on its satellite to other broadcasters.

"Around half of Thai households have already acquired K-Band satellite dishes," said Mr Tanawat. "However, there is still no broadcaster that offers HD channels. This is a market opportunity for us."MCOT will begin airing satellite HD channels in the current third quarter. The number of total channels in the transponder is still under discussion. It could range from six channels in HD to more than 10 channels in a hybrid standard and HD system.

MCOT said second-quarter revenue rose 18% compared with the same period last year to 1.52 billion baht, while net profit jumped 32% to 504 million during the period.

Television business revenue rose 25% to 1.03 billion baht, thanks to growing revenue from advertising during the election campaign and other seasonal programmes. Other revenue drivers were the new-media business and an increase in airtime fees earlier this year.

The radio business grew a slight 0.5% year-on-year to 227 million baht.

MCOT says that although the third quarter will be the lowest season of the year for the media industry, the company has prepared several activities and events to boost revenue during the period.

Moreover, the company will receive additional concession fees of 405 million baht from BEC World Plc in the third quarter to help maintain revenue and profit during the low season.

MCOT plans to increase airtime fees in October in line with inflation. The company said it would raise the fee again early next year when the new programme schedule comes out.

Mr Tanawat said MCOT would begin its 50-rai land development project in the second half of this year. At the moment, the board has approved an initial investment budget of 40 million baht to develop an exhibition hall as the first phase of the project.

ช่องอื่นๆควรขยับได้แล้ว ทั้ง 3 5 7 NBT กล้องสมัยนี้ก็เป็นFull HDหมดมานานแล้ว โฆษณาในทีวีจำนวนมากตอนนี้ก็เป็นระบบHD Ratio16:9 ซึ่งพอมาออกทีวี ก็ต้องบีบภาพลงมา ลงทุนปรับระบบออกอากาศหน่อย พอกสทช.ตั้ง ทำTV Digital ได้ ก็จะได้เดินหน้ากัน ไม่ใช่อ้างว่าพร้อมๆ แต่รอกสทช. ทั้งที่ยังมีทางเลือกออกอากาศระบบHD ผ่านระบบจานดาวเทียม ซึ่งทั่วประเทศติดกันเยอะอยู่แล้ว เพราะติดจานสมัยนี้ถูกกว่าซื้อทีวีเสียอีก
