LONDON: 1 Millharbour (140m roof / 160m spire)

1 Millharbour, Canary Wharf

Architect: Skidmore, Owings and Merrill
Developer: Ballymore
Height: 140m roof / 160m including spire
Floors: 50

According to Dronkula, one of the UK forumers, construction has just started on Millharbour in Canary Wharf.

It will be a 50-storey residential tower, just to the south of the main Docklands cluster, and it overtakes 51 Lime Street to become the tallest building currently under construction in London. A 2nd, slightly smaller tower will be built next to it, after the main tower has been completed. The architects are Skidmore, Owings and Merrill.

Only a little bit shorter than the bank street towers, should bulk up that side a bit. How long they think its gonna take?

If this is constructed at the same speed as Ontario Tower, then it should fly up in no time.

It's nice, but it doesn't look very London. It looks like it could be in any American city.

Oh, then again, it's SOM.

Canary Wharf in general does have a very North American, corporate feel to it.

Thats the good thing about London....it encompases all cultures and architectural styles
