Not enough glass towers. You'd think a city with a moderate year round climate would be filled with glass towers, because of less need to heat/cool. Look at Vancouver - it has hundreds of highrise glass towers.

Most of the tallest buildings you see were built in the 1960s to late 1980s time frame though. However, there was a substantial amount of construction in the 2000s. Not so sure about the '90s, but that decade seemed to be slow regarding construction. Besides SF looks good no matter what!

Moderate year-round climate? That's a common misconception of San Francisco. If anything, SF is more on the cool side than it is on the mild-warm like say LA. I do agree that it needs more glassy towers. The skyline is very whitewashed

True, but at least SF has some beautiful scenery surrounding it and doesn't look like a concrete jungle (well not to me anyways)..
