I love San Francisco. The whole idea of San Francisco. My favorite skyscraper is the trans-am pyramid. But unlike some cities, San Franciso isn't about its skyline. It's so much more than that. It's about its neighbourhoods, character, culture, its incredible setting and colourful history. It represents freedom and individuality like no place else on earth. Too many supertalls would take the focus away from that. The skyline is really just the icing on the cake.

San Francisco is one of the great cities of the world. The skyline could use a bit more flair, but it still gets a "9'.

Yes, San Francisco is a very nice city, though a bit overshadowed by Sacramento, about 1 1/2 hours northeast. lol

7/10. I think the city looks great when you're on Market St, but I it's way too white with just a few brown/tan buildings scattered throughout.
I think the GGB is just slightly overrated too, but I guess that doesn't count as skyline. |

San Francisco is beautiful. However, most of the beauty of the city comes from its fantastic location and natural surroundings, and not its skyline. On the whole, San Francisco has been too timid architecturally, and a bevy of laws and ordinances has made interesting and innovative development too difficult. For the skyline, because it should be larger, more interesting, and less tan, 7.5/10. (I still think SF is a wonderful city, but we're rating skylines here.)
