As i know, the country which has the most roundabouts is France; i know that because i have watched Tour de France cycling event many times since 1999 and the tour passed from many roundabouts... in all France could be hundreds of those

The older roundabouts in Belgium that have pedestrain/bike tunnels are full of graffiti and it's a place where street dealers sell their stuff...

i think being mugged or attacked could be worse than having to look at graffiti or walking by some dealers minding their own business (literally, haha)

That particular roundabout in Estonia is too deserted to attract any muggers.

What happens when you drive into a roundabout at nearly 150 km/h??

http://www.postcrescent.com/article/...0101/310120015

Yepper, he went 2-3 meters off the ground and cleared its 10 meter diameter center!

(BTW, Kiel, WI is a small city of a 3.5K people located about 100 km north of Milwaukee, WI.)

We have a lot of roundabouts in Bangkok alone, and had even more than that some tens years ago. I agree that roundabouts work best in low-density suburbs not in city centers (it's all city centers in Bangkok). The biggest one in Bangkok has fortunately been equipped with traffic lights. The one up north is currently undergoing an overpass construction, currently no traffic lights, just warning yellow lights.

A "bone roundabout", because it resembles a dog's bone.

These are called dumbbell junctions in English not bones.

I was bored at work one day (Waiting for the asphalt patch to cool), so I got some pics of the roundabout at the intersection of Highland Dr. and Qu"Appelle Bvd.

The plants and trees are native grasses and shrubs that are native to the region.

From the west side of the intersection. You can see my truck in the background.

"Give Way" sign at roundabout.
