Actually, from a law point of view, there's not a rigid prohibition of making that sort of left turn inside a turbor.; the line is dotted, so -unless there are specific signals on the spot- you can cross it.

Of course it is not designed to do so, and it is not in the intentions of the traffic manager, but that turn doesn't cause any danger to the users, only a lower average speed.

EDIT: In Panoramio there's a picture of the mentioned TR: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=41.99...id=po-89376589

What I really dislike is the signage. The arrows on the ground are completely inconsistent with the actual turns.

I would simply not draw them: the important thing is to sort traffic before letting it in, but once you're inside the choices are pretty obvious...

Turbo roundabout in Ljubljana:

Of course the sign forbids turning right, but it probably forbids turning left too (although it's actually the same road/roundabout).

Ah, that way. Well in NL there are sometimes road markings that show the directions you can go in. And if you go in another direction you can be fined for not following the arrows on the road. But if those arrows are not there I see no problem with changing lanes.

Let's put it this way: you can do it unless you find a real a**hole policeman

In TR, I'd use a very fine and simple element: the double line, one solid and one dotted. In that way you immediately understand what you can cross and what you must not.

In the Ljubljana picture this wouldn't be applicable (it would have no meaning), which means... you can turn left without problems

@Wilhem275

I guess they've put the horizontal signage because this was our first of that kind of roundabouts, so it was kinda new to people, and they wanted to make it easier I guess... Not that they did it properly, but I think that was their intention...

Oh, that's why there is a tutorial for this roundabout, btw...

Yes it has just opened a few days ago.

Its at the Scandinavian Transport center STC-Køge

You can actually see the wires on this image but I marked the area where the roundabout is.

I've got one with two gas stations around it

https://maps.google.ch/?hl=en&ll=45....04823&t=k&z=18

Weird thing is they're actually considered as normal rest areas on the motorway (A57 today, A4 back then).

I never saw a TR in real life and until recently I didn't know how they work but... it seems that legal U-turn it's possible.

I used segments instead of a curve only because they're easier to draw, but consider it as a curve.

Strange intersection, sort of traffic circle.
https://maps.google.it/maps?q=Triest...134.29,,0,2.38

Roundabout and traffic light intersection next to each other (they could replace it with a 7-branches huge roundabout).

Similar thing, a roundabout used to dispatch traffic at an intersection:
https://maps.google.it/maps?hl=it&ll...02411&t=k&z=19

The biggest I know is just outside Turin, serving a motorway, a main road and including an office block and a neighbourhood
