Thanks! I picked the best one. Could you please delete the rest of them because the idea of the thread is not to kill it with millions of photos but to have one representative photo for every parliament building.

@Fingolfin - It's the 3rd largest building in the world and the Europe's bigest one

That is the building of State Duma. There is also the White House but I think Duma is the main country parliament.

I don't know how well you all keep with news in Croatia, one small update, entire Government is moving to the riverfront, I mean all 12 Ministries 15 Governmental Agencies and Primemisters Office, Croatian Sabor (Parliament) as well...

The President will take over Banksi Dvori complex and Ministry of Foreign Affairs will keep its offices primarily for protocol and ministerial office, but rest would move as well. MOD will move to, as current complex s far to big for there needs...

The project is called "Zagreb na Savi", (Zagreb on the river front) it is major redevelopment of Sava river and turning river in to attraction.... Construction of no less than 7 Hydro electrical power plants will regulate river such way as to minimise flooding in the city and sounding area whilst allowing city to build along the river and provide city electrical needs... The Project is massive in magnitude and will cost on region of 8-10 billion Kuna, or around 1,1-1.5 billion Euros. New parliament would dominate riverfront and would provide spectacular backdrop...

From sale of the government owned properties Government is hoping to recuperate the cost of new governmental complex for which it plans to put aside 570 million Euros (720 Million US$).

The Old parliament would most likely be turned in to History Museum and other ministries are likely to end up offices or embassies...

I do not have any renderings as project is in its infancy, but some renderings do exist, it is very likely international competition will be held for entire complex and Sabor, winner would be chosen, as under EU legislation any project costing more than 5 million Euros requires international competition for design or works...

Once complete Zagreb river front will look dramatically different than today. Entire project is set to be completed before 2011...

Reconstruction on the parliament in Bosnia and Herzegovina has begun. The building is most likely going to be a full glass façade. I’m going to try to get some of the updated pictures for the project.

Good thread, I think we already had something like this.

Russian one is surprisingly ugly. Was this the main soviet one?? Biased or not, it looks worse than Ukrainian one, which was also built under USSR - so it makes no sense, why would they build a better one in Kyiv and not in Moscow.

And the winner is ... Hungarian. It's breathtaking.
