It will seat the administration of parliament while the parliament sessions will be held in a big building.

Boris Tadic sent a request to the government where he demands the presidency to be moved into Federation Palace while the current building will become a museum.

New presidency:

More of Ukrainian parliament ( Verhovna Rada )

Lunchroom. I always wondered how do political opponents act with each other outside the session room. Would a communist and a right-wind radical sit together eating and telling each other jokes?

The old one looks much better. While the new one is, imho, too huge for a presidency. It looks big enough to fit the government ( cabinet of ministers ) in there.

Yes, at least in Serbia. It's not rare that they are the best friends behind cameras.

No it's an office. President lives elsewhere and the role of the president in Serbia is not that big. He also has his offices in the Beogradjanka.

He wants to move for two reasons - the Belgrade center gets a traffic jam everytime someone visits the presidency - and he wants the old building (court) to become a museum.

Thanks for the info.
Can you also explain to me what the duties are of the President compared to the Prime Minister?

So now what will happen to the federal Flag? (Blue-White-Red) Its a shame if they don't use it in one way or an other. I kinda liked that flag cause a lot of people have the Red, White, Blue with a symbol kinda like Croatia, Luxemburg, Netherlands. But nobody has the Blue White Red pattern.

I am not sure about their detailed duties but the President doesn`t have many powers. He can declare the state of emergency, represent the country, give medals and veto a law and send it back to the parliament (but the 2nd time he has to approve it).

The flag goes to the can for now. Yeah it was a nice combination indeed. If Serbia and Montenegro form that Independent States Council maybe they will use that flag but that will be a minor as it gets.

Kind of but since it's only two countries it will be nothing basically...if they form it at all. With PM like Kostunica it won`t happen.

New building for Serbian Parliament or Skupština

The Parliament building is in the city centre of Belgrade, on the Nikola Pašić Square, in front of Pioneer's park. Prior to its use for the Parliament of Serbia and Montenegro, it served as the seat of parliament for Yugoslavia. The building is shown on the five-Serbian Dinars coin.

Construction on the building started in 1907, with the cornerstone being laid by King Peter I. The building was based on a design made by Konstantin Jovanović in 1891; a variant of that design made by Jovan Ilkić, which won a competition in 1901. World War I delayed construction, and the original plans to the building were lost. Reconstruction of the plans were made by Jovan's son Pavle. The interior was designed by Nikolaj Krasnov. It was designed in the manner of academic traditionalism.

A sculpture by Toma Rosandic, Igrali se konji vrani (Play of Black Horses), was placed in front of the building in 1939.

Actually the "new" one is 70 years old. Just in case anyone thought it was built after '91

Silly question...you truly speak from inexperience
Over here in the Balkans, after all those wars that killed God only knows how many people and broke the entire country up, we found out that various political leaders, paramilitary captains and all kinds of other presumed war criminals from all sides had absolutely no problem talking, laughing, telling jokes and even cooking birthday cakes for each other at the Hague war crimes tribunal

After all, they all speak the same language, no matter what they call themselves
