Just a personal perspective, but I reckon less is more....

The Las Vegas design is very Vegas, flashy, futuristic, but with all that faff going on, especially at each side of the centre, it will diminish the views for the riders.

For that reason, the two converging poles on the one side of London's Millenium Wheel would probably mean riders overall get better views as there is minimal obstruction. Singapore will also be good (I had thought those awful 'thick' dark spokes at the centre were staying but it seems not) but having one support each side may limit views a little more than Londons?

As for Vegas, it's crazy and unique design but IMHO there's just too much shit in the way for something that people are going to ride on to appreciate the views.

PS.
Someone mentioned the poor choice of colour for Singapore's wheel - it being white and all. Logically (my logic anyway), I reckon silver would be a bad choice - imagine how many riders would take a camera, and how many light flares they'd get off silver paint. So why white, which is still bright and would attract (maybe not quite so bad) light flares? - I dunno, maybe black would make it stand out too much on the landscape, and given a background of clear or cloudy skies, white won't stand out so much on the punters photos as black or another colour would. I think white isn't a bad choice.

Yup, the spokes (or booms) are to hold the sections of the wheel in place during construction. Will be removed soon.

The Las Vegas one looks impressive indeed.

But the difference lies in that the Singapore Flyer has very thin lines, be it the circle, or the two sticks holding up the circle (pardon my crude description).

Basically for the Singapore Flyer, what is see now is what you get (after removing the thick spokes which are temporary and installing the cabins).

i think both wheels are incredibly huge eyesores on the environmental landscape and totally unnecessary. they should be confined to theme parks, not built in the middle of natural green expanse. they're so out of place.

erm those 'natural' green parts are manmade and has only been there a few decades. The area around the wheel will become a park in the years to come...

what is more important are the views from inside the wheel, and i think the flyer will own the las vegas wheel in terms of scenery.
