This looks fantastic. The colours are great. The best looking terminal I have ever been in.

T4 and T4s are just amazing!!!

I had the chance to be in both terminals last February and I say that it's the best terminal I've ever been!!!

Sadly, T1, T2 and T3 just suck!!! It was so sad and horrible when, after 9 hours flying, I finally arrived in Madrid at T1. There was no pass-way and immigration and baggage claim areas are horrible.

Architecturally by far my most favorite airport terminals today, anywhere.

The only challenges tha are left are operational.

From a frequent flyer point of view connecting distances can be great. There the connecting subway and then 4 levels of escalators then maybe more moving sidewalks...

The luggage handling system/process needs to be improved because the last two times I was there, in October 2006, it took more than 45 for the luggage to show up way at the other end of the airport.

I am sure these issues can be resolved but it will challenge the logistical intellingence of the airport authority to significanly improve the processing of lugagge and passagers with connections in such large terminal complex.

It looks absolutely AMAZING.

Of all the airports I've been to (which isn't actually that many) it has to be the BEST!!!

Only Hong Kong International comes close.....

sooooooooooooooetc

cool.

Sydney Airport SUCKS - the worst I've been to - so much contrast...

Nice airport, I hope one day I would visit!

Do the other airports offer commercial flights?

I like Barajas... was very nice when I went through there in December. Some parts at ground level still have the ugly spanish/portugese-style 1970s airport look though, with the low ceilings, and poor work on the marble floor tiles, and gas tube lights.

Impressive. The ceilings are like made of wood, and the color scheme of the posts is inviting. It gives a positive welcome feel to passengers. I wanna land here if i'll go Europe.

actually only Iberia and oneworld airlines are allowed to use the new terminal 4. Vueling also uses T4.

torrejon de ardoz, and getafe perhaps?

I don't think that these would count as they are private airspace/military bases.

Torrejon de Ardoz (LETO) Mainly military base with private jets operations too.
Getafe (LEGT) Mainly military base and Airbus/CASA/EADS has some facilities there.
Cuatro Vientos (LECU) Mainly General Aviation airport and don't know if there is any military facility there.

Barajas (LEMD) is Madrid's comercial aviation airport.

The other terminals at Barajas look a bit outdated, something like Guarulhos Airport in Sao Paulo. But they're not bad at all, but not attractive at all as well heheh.
