Bigger panorama - Zlota will add very much to skyline looking from this angle.

Wow a lot of new ones going up in Warsaw lately, is there really enough demand right now?

Trully I'm interested myself. These two (Zlota 44 and Twarda) are the first highrise apartment buildings being constructed in Warsaw.

According to user robbo2k 34% of apartaments in Z44 are sold. Propably people will buy more when construction will be close to finish. Everyone remembers long break in construction due to protests and even if now everything's okay, people don't wan't to risk.

Złota 44 has reached the top construction speed. As the 22nd floor was completed April 19 Orco Property Group can confirm a record speed of completing one floor per week. Złota 44 is now 75 metres high! When it is ready, the 192 meters high building designed by Daniel Libeskind will be the highest modern apartment skyscraper not only in Poland but also in the European Union. The unique character of Złota 44 results not only from the fact that it will be the only product on the real estate market in Poland offering the highest luxury standard on a world level but also because it is the only contemporary fully residential building. Besides the ground floor where only several commercial and service facilities will be located, contrary to other investments of that kind (such as Tuning Torso in Malmö, Sweden, combining residential and office functions) the block will only hold residential apartments.

- The construction of the building at Złota 44 is our absolute priority. The maintenance of the current optimum speed of works will make Złota 44 building to be seen literally growing in the eyes of Warsaw citizens. We endeavour to complete the construction of the structure and external elevations of the building by the Euro 2012 Tournament – said Alicja Kościesza, the Sales and Marketing Director of Orco Poland.

It is interesting that Warsaw once had the highest residential building in Europe. It was the building of the Polish Telephone Share Company – PAST, built between 1906 and 1908, designed by Bronisław Brochowicz-Rogoyski in a shape of a Mediaeval castle tower. Złota 44 will contribute to marking the capital of Poland on the architectural map of the world, between New York and Dubai, with its highest modern residential building in the European Union.

Warsaw, in part due to being destroyed completely in WW2, has a chance I feel to become a unique city in Europe in the sense that it can develop a US/Australian style skyline and CBD (granted this will take some time), but it's a cool notion and I think you can already start to see it come out in some photos.

Anyway, this building is a great step in that direction!
