Actually, this one could still be very tall. It starts off with a bottom section with 3 floors that are three times the normal height, then 8 sections with 3 floors each, then a sort of skylobby that's again the height of 3 floors, then another 8 sections, another lobby, then 8 more sections but this time with higher floor heights (2 in the space of 3), and finally a spire that'll be 6 floors high (maybe an observation deck there )

Anyway, that equals 70 floors so maybe the bottom section consists of normal floors. That would make 76.

this one could actually come close to 340m!

there are 3 floors in the podium and 70 residential floors of which the upper third has higher floor to floor heights

level 4 starts at a height of 40m
let's assume floor to floor is 3.5m
there are:
48 low ceiling storeys
30 high ceiling storeys
40m podium
2 skylobbies idential in height to 3 low ceiling storeys

in other words:
see the white stripes on the tower, distance between them is about 10.5m
there are 31 blocks, that makes 325.5
plus roof it could be 340m, but not more i think

another thing coming to my mind! which is better as you will now see!

the first res floor is 40m above the ground
as you can see the first 3 blocks are podium, no res floors, hence 3 blocks are 40m tall

the tower has 31 blocks

3 blocks = 40m
1 block = 40m/3 blocks
31 blocks = 40m/3 blocks x 31

that makes 413m!!!!
this means huge floor to floor heights!

that's 5.4 m floor to ceiling.
i would rather go with the first solution.
did you contact them for height?

The reason why the first residential floor will be 40 meters above groung, might be becouse the elevated track of Dubai Metro (LRT) will pass just in front of this tower.

this could be a problem for other towers at SZR as well.
but the metro will pass in the middle won't it?

i doubt it has anything to do with the metro
at least it's good for the future when even the lower apartments have a good view and no metro is running in front of their windows

the article said, it's just for the comfort of the people. they even want people in the lower floors to have good views
that's it

I read about this one. This kuwaiti company invested a lot in Dubai. One of those days, I should go to Cityscape, whenever I settle back properly.

I don't like it. Maybe the real thing will/would look better and more impressive than the renderings and model.

Anyway, I just hope that someone in Dubai still maintains the global view and has some common sense in terms of the city's architectural plans. Some areas already look very dense with all the proposed / approved / UC towers. Hopefully, the individual, often awesome buildings won't lose their character and expression in an endless sea of skyscrapers... The 294th tower or the 65th supertall simply ain't exciting and special anymore. Go go Dubai, just don't exaggerate.

I actually think this is one of the best designs for Dubai. Is as good as Emirates towers, burj dubai and al fattan twins. The detail looks good on the model and will look absolutely great in real life. I've a feeling this tower'll be a big surprise on completion. Really like the bottom too. BTW I doubt this will be lost in a sea of other towers. Business bay's right behind it and there'll be mostly towers of around 30 to 40 floors.

doubt it, no roof feature and only 76F. though it will be a luxury tower with maybe 4m floor to ceiling height.
