A spectacular design.. but dubai has had so many interesting designs proposed (and approved and uc and completed) lately. Its almost like I want to see a plain box in Dubai. Now that would draw attention.

And I usually hate plain boxes (almost as much as I hate wall2wall).

but ais a nice design

This is actually a big change from most Dubai towers since this one's pretty bulky whereas most are slim. I have to say the location for a bulky tower like this isn't very good. Something slender, graceful and soaring would be better here since it's the opening of the marina. Something like fordham spire would have been better I think

277+ meters tall.

That makes three SOM towers awsome.

Infinity now holds the #1 spot for my favorite Dubai tower previously held by Ocean Heights.

Check the UAE forums. If you were to put all the towers into one thread it would take forever to load. BTW I made a summary of 300m + towers on Skyscraperpage here:

Don't know what's so unique about this building's form????........ Malmo (in Sweden) has just finished the "Turning Torso" which looks pretty much exactly like this one.....

don't like the fact they claim this one to be unique etc.... copy-cats!

but other than that it should add even more flavour to the Dubai skyline.

As far as we know, the construction HASN'T started yet.

BTW I doubt the location will be at Marina Entrance as claimed by a couple of Dubai Forumers. To me seams that it will be in the inner Marina behind Jumeirah Beach Residences and/or Al Fattan Marine Towers, with just Marina and not Sea view, propably at the same plot where a supertall central Marina tower was proposed 2 - 3 years ago. The bridge on the render seams o be one of the inner bridges connecting the 2 sides of the marina and not the one on Al Soufuh road.

i first couldn't believe it too
but when i had a close look, you can see that the photo is taken from the marina phase 1 walk
the bridge on the left

it definitely is the skate park plot
