Swedens tallest skyscraper to be built in Sthlm?

Today the "Finansborgarråd" Annika Billström said that she want´s to build a skyscraper in the "Norra stationsområdet" in Stockholm that will be taller than Turning Torso in Malmö.
Quote(translated): "We are going to build something taller than Turning Torso, Stockholm has to start acting like the big city it really is!"

I personally have never liked the woman since she made bicycle-paths out of city-streets in sthlm, but for once I couldn´t agree with her more

I will for sure put my vote on Billström next election if she keeps her promise. Did she present any new information about her vision today? Have she put it any further?

I´m not too familiar with the political hierarchy, but I do know the she is one of the most powerful people in Stockholm and as she sits on the money as the "Finansborgarråd" I bet she knows what she talking about when she said that "Stockholm city will have no problem financing a building like that" in the article. And as I mentioned earlier she have been involved in lots of great porjects in Sthlm which most of them have been realised.

Maybe someonelse knows more about her political influence in sthlm?

Is Stockholm as a city going to finance this project? However, it is nice to see that Stockholm finally will do something about the "big brother complex". Let's hope for a skyscraper contest between the two cities.

Is there any info about potential architects? It will be very, very hard to get the same impact on the world as Turning Torso if they don't hire an architect in Calatrava's league. Turning Torso is already considered maybe the best scraper in Europe (together with SwissRe and Torre Agbar) and one of the best in the world. It will be hard to beat that if they not come up with something really spectacular (supertall height or extremely innovative design - Calatrava style). A "normal" 250 m. tower ain't enough, I guess.

There's no render. This is just something Billström is saying to win some votes on this jealousy Staff calls "big brother complex" that we all suffer from.
