Is this the image from the 'Dream World' of an average Leeds forumer?! Ain't gonna happen pal

The top part of Beetham, looks stupid, that big board on top of it, what is it for, looks so out of place.

Score 5/10

Ever considered applying for a position at CABE?

8 - the cladding is wonky, and its ineffect a slab, but the overhang and the sheet height of it sitting proud above Manchester marks it out. And bearing in mind lack of progress of Lumiere / Criterion Place on Leeds and the Mirax/Jumeriah Tower in London, its actually evidence of a completed Ian Simpson scheme!

I was reading on wikipedia that from the top of the Manchester one you can see as far as the West Midlands and Shropshire, it shocked me becasuse the distance is nearly 90miles apart

It is very flat around there though...

I live 18miles away and I can see it very clearly from my house in Cheshire...

No way you would be able to see the West Mids from the top of there though, like really? That is amazing if you can, great picture.

Staffordshire is in the West Midlands "Region", so it probably means Cheadle!!

The curvature of the Earth would not allow you to see anything further than 35 miles away (unless land in the far distance was very high or mountains) ... if the structure was extremely tall you would see further, but then it would need to be a MILE high and not 600 feet!!
