Travis007,
Libeskind didn't design that tower, only the lower crystal-looking portion was done by his team.

I have never been a fan of Libeskind as a person nor his work. Yes this will be a great addition to the Toronto skyline but I find the design lacking. There is just something about it...

I think what turns me off about this project is the cladding used for the exterior. It looks great in a rendering but I think once it is applied in the real world, it will look horrible.

The Star pix are much better... I assume the brown brick part at the back is an
existing building, as it seems to clash with the rest of the design. Now I have
seen this rendering, it is kind of growing on me! Also, maybe I am sleepy, as I
just got up, but does this indicate it has been built over Front Street, with
the traffic passing under? That would be sooooooooooooooooooo hot.
I love the Warsaw one, and it would have looked amazing beside the ROM.

I'm not sure I like the facade either. Especially on the base, I think it should be glass. (Maybe it is, but it looks like metal siding to me)

i like boxes too... but i'd rather see a better mixture of styles/shapes in the toronto skyline other than the box. (and i'd prefer if you would stop calling them boxes, i prefer the name "heavenly rectangular prisms"). I sense this is the beginning of a new life for toronto's skyline!

I personally don't hate boxes, many of them are quite beautiful. But Toronto's skyline today is mostly boxes. We need more towers that would stick out.

When I first see a Libeskind render I think 'wow that's pretty funky' but when I look closer, eg snoopy's renders I think 'that facade could actually look exceptionally crap'. His shapes seem to be really cool but without a good facade they want work.

Anyway good news for Toronto - there's already 287 buildings proposed or approved listed on Emporis for the city (not including this one). Wow!!

I sorta don't like most of Libeskind's work. That other tower for toronto is okay but I guess you could say hes not my style.

Sorry guys, Warsaw looks great. The Toronto tower sucks. It is one ugly monster tap.

We have some lovers and some haters, looks like Libeskind has himself a winner.

The one in Warsaw is more distinguishable and thus better IMO.
