The Singapore Skyline crisis
![]() In a few years time, it will look like this and there after, the Sail will block it from view. And so on and so fourth. The skyline on the left will be extremely dense, while the right one will be detached. I personally fine the future skyline to be quite bad. Anyways, where will the new skyline viewpoint be? |

the new viewpoint would be from the esplanade promenade where one can see an arc of buildings in front of them with the new IR at the extreme left and the current skyline cluster at the right.
yes i agree with cliff that sheares bridge would be a bad viewpoint 10 years down the road... the new skyline would be less of a "line" as in today's shenton way stretch but more of a cluster effect. |

Agree with hyacinthus & aloyteo about the best future spots to observe the skylines.
Imagine in future...a bay surrounded by skyscrapers...so far, no other city has that. Singapore's skyline is slowly 'Manhattanizing' by adding depth. Currently it is more like a long row of skyscrapers. Interestingly, Dubai's skyline is now growing like how Singapore's skyline did in the 1970s, ie skyscrapers lined up along a road. |

What I don't like is that the main skyline(the one with Rpublic, OUB, UOB) is detached from the ultra dense sub skyline.
What would really tie the skyline together would be 2 - 300m towers at golden shoe, to recreate the "mountain" |

![]() It doesnt necessarily have to be ugly if the future BFC complements the Sail well... ![]() Anyway the Sail makes a nice punctuation mark seen from the Esplanade waterfront, with its strong curve
