Meanwhile, Najib said the project and many other similar projects reflected investors' recognition of the underlying strength in the Malaysian economy.

"It is against this backdrop that I am pleased to see Four Seasons Place project coming to fruition.

"Not only does it typify the kind of growth that will steer Malaysia to our 2020 vision and beyond, but it also speaks of the confidence which investors place in our capital, our country and our economy," he said in his speech.



The 65-storey integrated development project consists of over 300,000 square feet of luxury retail space, with over 231 hotel rooms, as well as hotel service apartments and residence ranging from 1,300 to 12,000 square feet in size per unit.


Syed Yusof said the Seasons Residence would provide the ultimate in prestige and exclusivity for owners with residential swimming pool located over 330 metres above ground level.

"The Four Season Hotel will provide the finest world-class five-star hospitality services to guests and residents," he added.

He said that the private residence and hotel were both designed according to Four Seasons standards, providing world-class accommodation to residents and guests.

The Four Seasons Place and the Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur will be managed by Four Seasons Hotel and Resort.

Barely one day after the groundbreaking of the 7-star Harrods Hotel and apartments in Kuala Lumpur, the city saw another top-end project being unveiled last night.

Four Seasons Place Kuala Lumpur was launched by Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Razak at the project’s site next to KLCC, with the attendance of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

Even though this highly anticipated project has been slow in materialising over the last four years (with the original plans for two towers now reduced to one), the start of construction was marked with fireworks and the signing of an agreement for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts Asia Pacific Pte Ltd to manage the mixed development.

Developer Venus Assets Sdn Bhd expressed confidence that more than enough potential buyers have shown interest to keep the RM2.8 billion project going until completion, estimated in four years’ time (2017).

Venus Assets is a joint venture between the Sultan of Selangor, Tan Sri Syed Yusof, Dato’ Ong Beng Seng and Dato’ David Ban. These partners also own the Concorde hotels and several Hard Rock Cafes and hotels in the region.

“Based on enquiries that we have received for our 242 units of Four Seasons Residences, I am pleased to inform our esteemed banker Maybank that we have easily achieved your strict sales requirements,” said Venus Assets chairman Tan Sri Syed Yusof Tun Syed Nasir. Enquiries have been received from investors hailing from Japan, India, Mainland China, Indonesia and Myanmar, among others, he said.

Sources close to the project have stated that bookings will likely reach 50% of the units available once sales officially open within a few weeks. “And these strong interests are not just for the small units, we’re talking about the big units too,” said one source. “The two penthouses which are priced at around RM35mil are already reserved.” He refused to reveal much about these likely buyers outside of the fact that they were not local but hailed from within the ASEAN region.

One Japanese investor who attended the launch, Hirofumi Ouchi, revealed that he had brought with him other Japanese investors; in total, they would be taking up 10 to 20 units. “This is a Four Seasons, and in Japan, the price of the Four Seasons is much more expensive,” he said.

Even though an offer to buy the building en-bloc has been made by a fund management company, the developer will not be taking up this offer, it has been reported. Some speculate that it is because the developer stands to gain more by selling it to end buyers, rather than to a fund management company which would sell the units on anyway.


With a shareholder for Four Seasons’ developer also controlling several major fashion franchises (via Club 21 Malaysia), the luxury shopping mall should easily draw these desirable brands.


So does this mean that the property market is still healthy this year? “I believe so,” said Venus Assets director Adrian Cheok. “The catch, however, is that it must have a brand. The Four Seasons brand has got very strong pulling power.”

Like another branded residence project the St Regis in KL Sentral, Four Seasons’ condos offers personalised services such as stocking residents’ groceries and arranging a chef to cook in residents’ homes.

Unit sizes for the apartments will range from 1,300 to 12,000 sq ft. The five-star Four Seasons Hotel, meanwhile, will comprise 231 rooms atop 300,000 sq ft of luxury retail space.

The entire building is planned to reach 65 storeys and will feature the highest residential swimming pool at over 330m above ground level.

The tallest Hotel Tower is in Mecca, and the highest swimming pool is in Hong Kong. So these announcements are false.

abraj al bait mecca is a multipurpose building..it is not count as the tallest hotel in the world..the tallest is the newly JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai-355m.four season kl will be the 5th tallest hotel in the world behind rose rotana,ryugyong and burj al arab hotel if the final height is 320m..1m shorter than burj al arab..and yes,ritz carlton ICC hongkong have the highest pool in the world(420m above the ground level)
