fall has come to Uppsala

Fall has come to Uppsala,Sweden. Today on september 25th we've had 22C and sun, as you can se

first a picture from the city graveyard.

a part of our lovely unfinished castle and the botanical garden.

I'm actually starting to think that these trees are losing their leaves due to the drought

the botanical garden where Carl Linné used to work.

Carolina Rediviva, without doubt the biggest library in Scandinavia

one of my favorite buildings in Uppsala, i simply adore neoclassicism

this little area/park is called Odinslund, after the asa god Odin of course

16-18th century buildings just outside the cathedral

the cathedral from the 13th century, 118 meters tall.

Uppsala University is the oldest university in Scandinavia (1477) but it's only the 2nd biggest university. It's a very good university. We've been able to produce 14 noble prize winners, which is very good for such a small town!!

Gustavianum is a very old anathomic theatre. The building is from the 16th century, the anathomic theatre is from the 17th century. In the early 17 century there were apparently only 3 of these in europe, two in Italy and then this one..

when was out taking these pictures an old propeller airplane from nowhere started to fly slalom through the towers of the cathedral. I have never ever experienced such a thing. It was so totally bizare!!

after i took this picture the pilot suddenly dived and did his thing. Silly of me i first thought it was some sort of crazy terrorist silly me!

that's all for new folks!

I really like this pics, Ringil! It looks like summer is still there, though.

Interesting about the plane. Reminds me of the one that made it under the arc de triomphe.

Nice pics, you sure had nice weather today! I wonder what the pilot of the plane wanted to say with his flying?
