Very true, there is little ground experience/atmosphere around there. I don't really think that the apartment blocks already built or proposed can count as signature landmark buildings. The IWM could have achieved this status, only it's too short, and you can't see it from any direction as you drive through the Quays.......shame, because it's beautifully designed.

The best place for taller office buildings is around Exchange Quay, I think.

SleepyOne, in what way is the shorter proposal a more intelligent piece of urban design?

If you won't provide an explanation I shall conclude that it would be twice as intelligent at half the height.

Yeah a new sign is up on the warehouse and the Erie Basin Tower shown in jrbs post has now officially begun, a large drill was on site the other day.

Salford Town Hall should move to Salford Quays, The place is starting to look mint and shipping the council here will give the city the identity it needs

A bit more info!

Modus are waiting on Trafford Councils planning review which will take place next year. Once the review is completed, Modus will hopefully press ahead with the scheme? The plans still involve a residential tower! The site has been let on a short term lease!

Know doubt this review by Trafford Council could affect the Victoria Gateway scheme aswell?
