Lol I forgot about this thread, I was kidding. A certain someone also said "it's a yuck" (whos was from Jakarta) in one of the Manila threads and I just wanted to see how you guys would react to it. I really don't mean it...

5/10. Jakarta is the least developed capital cities compare to its neighbor. A slightly ahead to Ho Chi Minh but below Bandar Seri Begawan.

get your facts right...Indonesia's construction activity is #1 in SE Asia in H1 2005 according to BCI Asia.com ...

"In the first half of 2005, construction started on US$27 billion worth of commercial and institutional buildings in China and Southeast Asia. US$18 billion (67%) of these project starts were located in Mainland China, US$2.6 billion (10%) were in Hong Kong/Macau, US$1.7 billion (6%) were in Indonesia, US$1.5 billion (5%) were in Malaysia, US$0.9 billion (3%) were in Singapore, US$0.9 billion (3%) were in Thailand, US$0.8 billion (3%) were in Vietnam and US$0.6 billion (2%) of these projects were in the Philippines. In the second half of 2005, US$30 billion worth of commercial and institutional buildings are due to start construction in China and Southeast Asia."

In the 2nd half, $2.2 billion worth of new projects scheduled to commence construction.

Talking about GDP, Indonesia registered 6.3% GDP growth for H1 2005, I wouldn't call that "laggard" by any measure...

I dun want underrate BSB or HCM but Jakarta is far from that two city and there is a poll Jakarta vs Karachi where Jakarta is far ahead from ur city

Anyway why u attack Jakarta??

#516 Islamabad

so you have jakarta then 453 other city's and then 2 pakistan city's
Please look first at your own city's please!

This is because there are many indonesians in this forum. Indonesia is the third largest country in terms of population in Asia. BTW Karachi's standard of living is higher than jakarta. Jakarta is truly lagging behind sorry for that....

Indonesia's population is not reflected in the number of Indo forumers in this forum...we are relatively in small numbers compared to Thai, Singapore and Phillipino forumers.
