The Westin/Thamrin Nine Residence

300 room business hotel plus 100 apartments located on the upper levels.


The tower is designed as a series of large sticks made of glass stacked on top of one another to form a sculptural composition. The hotel sticks have a north-south orientation to minimize direct sun to the rooms.
Double height glass boxes slip in and out of the lower levels to form space for boutique shopping and restaurants.

Good news for Jakarta!
Anyway I like the second design, much better with two towers
mmmh... its quite similar with one building proposed/ under construction in Manchester, UK

The building in Manchester that you're thinking of is the Civil Justice Center, which is underconstruction and may even be topped out. And there are some similarities between the designs. I like them both.

Im glad they got rid of the second shorter tower on the left.

Great news it finally restarted construction. The old, original design wasnt bad either...

LOL, it's weird, they are continuing the original cylinder-shaped columns with square-shaped ones ^ ^
The new design looks good on renderings, I have to say I'm a bit skeptical about how this kind of design will actually look in real :-) We'll see.
