"They will conquer Constantinople with tasbih & takbir, AND they will obtain booty the like of which has never been seen…" (Ibn Majah).
The first part possibly refers to an unusual event that happened during the 15 July 2016 attempted coup. The second part possibly foretells a super economic growth upcycle "the like of which has never been seen".
Exactly as predicted by Ibn Majah right?

Gulf dispute causes traffic at Hamad Airport to drop sharply

Traffic dropped 18 percent year-on-year in June, according to the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS) August Bulletin.

It also fell some 32 percent from the previous month. But this could also be because June is usually a quieter travel month in Doha than May.

These official figures reveal for the first time how hard the Gulf dispute has hit HIA, which had experienced blockbuster growth before the boycott began.

Hi guys,
I am back from my vacation with fresh results for one on the most exciting month of the year! July and also August are months of many records and historic numbers. Lets have a look!

29 airports out of top 50 busiest established a new record of transported passengers. This is an increase of 4 airports since last July, when 25 airports witnessed new monthly record.

For the first time:
LAX handled more than 8 million passengers in a single month and became 4th airport to do so in history (after ATL, PEK and DXB)
BCN transported more than 5 million passengers for the first time, for MAD its not the first time (it was 2007-07) but it is new monthly record (transporting 49 thousand passengers more than in 2007-07)
PMI was another airport to create new record when it crossed 4 million handled passengers for its first time, the same goes for SVO and EWR
Many European airports experienced their best month in the history: CPH, MAN and DUB having more than 3 million passengers; LIS, VIE, BRU, DUS, ATH more than 2.5 million passengers; AGP crossing 2 million passengers; OPO, LCA, LYS, CTA, NAP and KEF handled its first million in a single month – all those airports for the first time in history!

On 12-month rolling basis:
The difference between PEK and DXB dropped below 9 milion passengers
IST returned above 60 million passengers
DEL handled more than 60 million passengers and became 19 airport in the history to do so
LGW crossed 45 million passengers handled
LIS and STN crossed 25 million passengers handled
TLS became 5th busiest airport in France, skipping MRS

Other news:
LAS set new monthly record, surpassing previous record achieved in 2007-08
NRT handled 1 billion passengers since its opening
DEL grew in double digits for 27 consecutive months, but it stopped in July
MXP witnessed 4th busiest month in the history, previous records set in 2007
AYT was the fastest growing airport in top 50 with 65% growth, followed by SVO with 23% and EWR with 14%
PEK has the worst position in very long time (not sure when it happend last time) dropping to 4th position in July 2017

Enjoy

In Italic and Underline are the new records (29 airports)

Graph showing growth and the size of the airport

AYT is missing in the graph, since the growth was 65%

Thanks as always for the info and charts bubbalo!

And in other news LAX reported their August figures!:

http://www.lawa.org/LAXStatistics.aspx

LAX reported for July 2017: 7,930,124 passengers, a YOY("year over year") increase of 4.41%. Domestic passenger totals ticked up a bit more than usual with an increase of 2.81% YOY to 5,509,693 and International passenger growth remained strong with a YOY increase of 8.26% to 2,420,431. 2017 as of now is tracking to have 4.85% increase over 2016 and if that holds LAX will finish 2017 with a total of ~84,846,221

Toronto Pearson in 5th was a surprise. The impressive number of connections should serve it well in it's strategy to become a global mega hub. Air Canada is attempting to do the same for Vancouver's YVR (26th spot). International passenger growth is surging in both airports so it's working thus far.

Hi guys,

wanted to show you some nice graphs about US International traffic. Hopefully the charts are understandable, if not please feel free to ask.

For 119 US airports I have available monthly statistics since 2008, but only for 26 of them I was able to consolidate international and domestic traffic (in future maybe more, right now only airports that handles more than 700 000 international passengers per year are included). Of course there is more than 119 US airports and definitely more than 26 airports which have international traffic, so please be advised of that, in full picture reality the graphs would look little different, especially the one measuring % share of international traffic on total traffic)

The list of 26 international airports:
JFK, LAX, MIA, SFO, EWR, ORD, ATL, IAH, DFW, IAD, BOS, FLL, MCO, SEA, PHL, LAS, CLT, DTW, MSP, DEN, PHX, LGA, BWI, TPA, HOU, MDW

1) the first graph is showing % share of international traffic with selected criteria. We can interpret the graph in two ways - first saying that in December 2016 percentage of international traffic share was around 19%; second that percentage share for the whole year 2016 was 17.4% (actually written in the graph)

2) this one is little more complicated, but it says actual % growth of total, international and domestic traffic, along with seasonally adjusted data. See blue lines in December, single line says international traffic grew about 6.5% compare to December last year, double line says international traffic grew 5.8% compare to previous 12-month period (in this case calendar year 2015)

3) and 4) those graphs states the actual amount of passengers in each month with indication of percentage growth. there is also mentioned 12-rolling period.

Once again, please let me know if there is something not clear,
Cheers!

Spanish statistics datas of September have been published for all the AENA airports (this means all the important spanish airports and most of the non importants):

http://www.aena.es/csee/ccurl/292/95...embre_2017.pdf

As always, first page is monthly data, and second page is 2017 data (Jan-Sep). On each page, first column shows pax, second column shows operations and third column shows goods carried.

MAD: 4.807.563 (+4,3%) in september. 40.232.140 (+6,1%) in 2017.
BCN: 4.637.662 (+6,4%) in september. 36.721.039 (+7,7%) in 2017.

Now, after what is happening in Catalonia since 1-oct, I wonder... BCN has been growing month after month since May of 2013, 53 months in a row, but will this streak continue one more month or not? Only AGP has been growing for such a long time in Spain (if we consider airports over 1M pax per year), and it will surely continue growing for the next months.

BCN should be in that ranking...

After yihadist terror attacks in BCN, and after the riots for independence in Catalonia, BCN airport growing is slowing down a bit...

I think it will drop from 10% to 5%.

Dublin 2,700,000 (+6%) for September, on course for just under 30 million for the year. Would likely be comfortably above 30m this year except for the small matter of Brexit meaning a big drop in UK traffic. US and connection traffic is booming with DUB quickly turning into a major transatlantic hub.

More than 2.7 million passengers passed through Dublin Airport last month, a 6% increase on last year, making it the busiest September in the airport’s 77-year history.

Parallel runway currently under construction though likely won't be open for at least another two years, more stands and taxiways are also badly needed so growth might be subdued until these are built. Still all positive for the moment though

So good to see Dublin passengers increasing! Nobody knows what Brexit will hold at present but all major U.K airports are busier than ever. Even with Monarch out of action.

Especially Manchester which is speeding ahead of Dublin's 6% increase with a range between 7% to 12% monthly increases. Climbing towards that 30 million mark with a 1.2 billion Euro expansion under construction to hold over 50 million a year, A leaf out of Dublin's book with U.S pre-clearance up and coming and possibly a 3rd runway down the line. (As well as new motorways to the airport, hotels and a business city)

2.7 million for September was great for Dublin, as was 2.9 million for Manchester this September also... Friendly competion with our neighbouring capital
