says that London Heathrow airport handled 67 million passengers which would comftorably place it at #2 not 81

India's impressive air traffic growth continues unabated. Here is the latest traffic statistics from Airport Authority of India (May 2006). These are international and domestic traffic figures combined for the first 15 busiest airports in India.

Rankings up to August will be pretty much exactly the same as the one I posted up to May. Mumbai and New Delhi will move up a couple a places.

Indian airports have been witnessing a big growth too, but they are too freakin small. Hopefully once the new airports are ready by 2010 then they can accomodate the swelling masses, especially Delhi and Mumbai.

Mumbai's still done well to reach 60 despite its crappy infra.

Yeah, Indian airports must be cracking at the seems trying to cope. I hope they're planning massive expanssions to cope with such huge growth in passenger numbers.

I don't have current data for Pakistan but for 2004 the figures were:
Karachi 4.8 million
Lahore 2.6
Islamabad 2.5
