Same. I don't know how anyone could love American Airlines. Makes me shudder as to what the other choices are. It also makes me question the other choices. If Continental and Southwest are comparable, I'll make a mental note never to fly with them.

I suspect is is flying that this forumer loves, not these airlines. Perhaps Singapore Airlines and airlines of that calibre don't fly to West Palm Beach?

Aren't Air France-KLM headquarters located in Paris CDG airport?

Air France has 80% shares from Air France-KLM.

And to Lufthansa you have to add the 20 000 flights from Swiss because Swiss is a Subsidiary of Lufthansa. So theyre get the 6. place.
But its good to see Lufthansa at 8. place.

Don't discount Southwest. Think of them as the not evil version of Ryanair. Cheap fares, but comfortable and serviceable flights. Perfect if you're in a 2 to 5 hour flight (which the majority of American flights are).

Continental is more similar to American, but they take a more "business-like" approach, for lack of a better description.

Sure, they don't compare to Singapore Airlines, but then again, we don't have government backed flag carriers here that do primarily long haul flights. Pan Am used to be pretty nice back in the day, I hear.

Does anyone have a list of world's largest airline by fleet size? Yes, I know USA would dominate the list for example, United Airlines has a fleet of 460, American Airlines 655, Southwest airlines 511, Delta Airlines a fleet of 440 etc.. but it would be interesting to know.

You've probably right but out of all the "big six" airlines and Southwest, my best experiences have been on the Texas based airlines American, Continental and Southwest.

I love American because of their shiny MD-80's but I think most would agree that Continental and Southwest are far better when it comes to service and friendliness. Southwests staff is always upbeat and happy, when it comes to Continental the staff is very easy to work with, professional and courteous.

As for United, U.S. Airways and Northwest, my flights weren't as fun as on American, Southwest or Continental. Also Delta is pretty cool in my opinion.

I can't wait to see what Singapore, Malaysia, Cathay and Qatar have to offer but I'm excited about my American Airlines flight to Los Angeles end of November.

Well, if that's all they have experienced, of course they are going to think they are good. It's like driving a Lada in the Soviet Union and then someone telling them about a car called a Mercedes. They can't imagine it until they are shown one, get in one, then drive around in one. Till then, they're still going to like the Lada.

Nonsense, I like JetBlue for instance. American airlines usually suck on long-haul flights though.

yeah, of course that was a generalization, but for the most part they don't compare to some of the international airlines.

Asian airlines are the best ones, then European airlines and, at the end, American airlines.
