I don't think you're getting it. the list by gregpz does not show the entire 2007 - the numbers for jan-dec 2007 are a bit different than the numbers from oct06-sep07 ...

I was always puzzled by people complaining about threads - the easiest way would be not to read them ...

That can be said about certain pieces of "information" being posted.. some are just repetetive, some are gibberish sans any real updates or value.. For instance, just look at the data that was being posted supposedly for Jan - Dec and compare them with GregpZ's list.. where is the difference?, it is just futile to read them..

Agree. Regurgitating the same data in a minutely different way amounts to everyone getting bogged down in mountains of numbers that don't add anything significant to the level of understanding and insight.

Trends and overall numbers are much more noteworthy than a jump 100,000 PAX discrepancy due to a 3 month shift in the 12 months covered. Next we'll have even more tedious posts correcting Cologne's numbers from 10,300,000 to 10,300,006 people.

I still don't get why you guys post here, if you don't like this?

the purpose of this is to collect data to create a 2007 list. the 2006 thread was very successful, and this one will probably be too. we expect major changes to the rankings in 2007. it may not be your cup of tea, but there are people who are interested in these numbers. this is a free forum, and people are allowed to talk about pretty much everything they want. these numbers may not say anything to you, but they do to other people. so let them their discussion.

the creator of this thread should maybe take all these numbers and update his first posting, so the numbers become more understandable for those who are not familiar with these statistics, if they have to visit this thread. of course, the easiest way would be not to visit it.

You said, "I still don't get why you guys post here, if you don't like this?" Please realize that some people wonder the same thing about people like you. This isn't YOUR forum, it is for everyone. I am very interested in the ranking, the numbers, trends, and the implications for the airports, airlines, and cities listed. I understand all of your arguments, but there is such a thing as overkill. You reach a point of diminishing returns.

Do we really want people posting 150 times regarding 150 airports and then someone having to go back and verify sources with all 150 forumers as to validity, and then constructing an unofficial chart? What are we supposed to do with these Stuttgart and Dusseldorf figures you gave us? They mean very little considering the source has neither been verified, neither do we have much to compare it to. Come on! This is what I and a few others, are commenting on. It's beyond tedious. The full year Jan 2007 to Dec 2007 inclusively is probably going to be issued in a month. Can't you wait a few weeks?

You've gone well beyond attention to detail and entered into a tedious pointless exercise that contributes no significant data that can be used to make inferences of any kind. Continue to list them, I don't want to interfere with your interest in posting them, but please realize that there are people who view such postings as taking away from the usefulness and insightfulness of the thread.

I believe avion took the numbers from fraport - fraport owns a terminal in antalya - they only show numbers for this terminal - not for the entire antalya airport.
