Wow! I was never able to post the whole day yesterday so babawiin ko today
1. why will that Bohol International Airport ever rival Cebu? It can't!, we're established! Instead of rivaling, maybe it could even help Cebu in boosting it's tourism mandates because international tourists bound for Bohol might as well visit the world class Cebu... 2. Many are arguing why Cebu is considered as the Queen City of the South... First, because we are the second biggest city outside Metro Manila. Second, MALACANANG of the SOUTH is located in Cebu... Malacanang is the place where the president stays during vacation and important appointments and visits. There are a lot more of reasons but I could not just state them all because they are obvious. They are seen and heard. 3. Curtis, a world renowned illusionist will visit Ayala Center Cebu on Sept. 2-4 for mall shows. For schedules, please visit www.ayalamalls.com.ph

and another thing...
4. Cebu is home to the BIGGEST, WORLD FAMOUS, MOTHER of all Philippine Festivals..The SINULOG Festival...Kahit na siguro ilakip ang lahat ng Kadayawan, Atiatihan, Maskarra, Dinagyang, etc..,It will never beat the ESTABLISHED SINULOG FESTIVAL...Sorry ha, wag sanang magalit...

what is this all about? i thought filipinoes stick together, instead they envey eachother for "better buildings" and "booming basics". gosh how low can you sink.....
you should be proud of all progress everywhere in the country. of corse you cannot compare a building in cebu, iloilo or davao with hong kong, shanghai, london or kuala lumpur. face the facts : the philippines just does not have the money to invest that much into the ediface of a building. nevermind ! it still is nice. and it's the key to progress, construction, infrastructure and tourism growth. philpal |

Another thing, Ayala Malls has done a very decisive move recently. Ayala Center Cebu opened with 6 cinemas at first...In the new millenium, ACC decided to upgrade 5 cinemas and close 1 because according to them, they do not get much income from cinemas in addition, converting the cinema into RETAIL SPACES/ STORES would give the mall more income.
Recently, Market!Market! also closed 2 cinemas... Nice Move Ayala! I think it was best to close the cinemas, anyway, more people choose to watch pirated DVDs since they won't miss any scene for they can pause it when nature calls them... Converting it into retail spaces was great, it would give more choices to the shoppers

just let them say that their city is better than Cebu....if they think that theirs is better, then leave them alone....we in Cebu just concentrates on the progress of our city and an aim to help imrove the coutries ailing economy.... A city of people with that kind of attitude, I think the city will suffer and sink.... change your attitude buddies...we're just one...

about the Queen city issue.... Cebu does not really depend on the title Queen City infact here in Cebu, bihira kang makarinig ng mga Cebuanos na magsasabing 'welcome to the Queen City of the South' but instead just a simple "welcome to Cebu" coz the word CEBU is more popular than the phrase The Queen City of the South.... If they want their city (Iloilo) to be named back The Queen City, then give them the freedom. Cebu is only defined as a Queen City of the South by those people from outside Cebu specifically from Manila, Cebu City mayor is not proud of that title at all... He said it's just a phrase written next to the word Cebu.....Just let them say that their city is the Queen City....kawawa naman eh...

CEBU pictures
We definitely lack Cebuano forumers to take and post pictures of our beloved Cebu..I, too, have a digicam here but I just can't take pictures because I still have classes... (To those who don't know, I'm still 3rd year High School of the University of San Carlos)..So, as for now, for those who are looking for pics of Cebu, please visit this website...

Marco Polo to reopen Plaza hotel 1Q 2006 By Irene R. Sino Cruz MARCO POLO CEBU - 25 FLOORS - 335 ROOMS ![]() MARCO POLO DAVAO - 18 FLOORS - 245 ROOMS The Federal Land Inc. and the Marco Polo Hotel Group have scheduled the re-opening of the former Cebu Plaza hotel early next year. "The renovation is extensive in order to position the hotel as the leading hotel in Cebu City. This will take time. If all goes well the hotel should be open by spring 2006," said Juanita Lo, communications manager of the Marco Polo Hotel Group. The Marco Polo Hotel Group decided to take over the management of the property due to the good prospects of Cebu's tourism industry. "Cebu is the fastest growing economy in the Philippines. The outlook for visitor arrivals is very positive," Lo explained. She also noted that the Marco Polo brand has been known in the Philippines and the company's decision to come to Cebu serves as an expansion of its presence in the country. "The Marco Polo brand is well known in the Philippines. It (former Cebu Plaza Hotel) is a logical extension of our very successful experience with Marco Polo Davao. Federal Land is an excellent partner that shares Marco Polo's vision for the hotel," she added. Jeffrey Flowers, president of the Marco Polo Hotel Group, noted in a statement that having The Marco Polo Plaza Cebu will strengthen their brand presence in the Philippines. "We see this hotel has a great potential in the leisure and meetings and incentives market. We will leverage our hotels in Asia and our worldwide sales network to position the hotel as the leading hotel in Cebu," Flowers added. Federal Land also expressed confidence about the Marco Polo Hotel Group's capability to manage the property. "The strength of the Marco Polo brand and its reputation for service excellence and Asian hospitality are the natural complements to this important hotel," according to Alfred Ty, president of Federal Land Inc. and Asia Pacific Top Management Corporation (APTMC). The renovation alone will require P500 million, while the total project cost will reach P1.5 billion. The ongoing renovation of the Marco Polo Plaza includes upgrading of all fire safety systems, electrical wiring and plumbing systems to international standards, installation of the latest communication and AV systems, renovation and enhancement of all public and guestroom areas. Federal Land intends to upgrade all facilities in the property so that it will meet world-class quality standards, it said in a statement. Upon completion of its refurbishment, the 25-storey tower will provide 335 guestrooms and suites. The hotel will also feature Marco Polo's signature Continental Club Floor, which is noted for providing the finest in international service. It will also have facilities for conferences and events with its grand ballroom and 14 function rooms. Federal Land Inc., a member of the Metrobank Group, is the lead company undertaking the development of the hotel property together with APTMC. The Marco Polo Hotel Group is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Wharf (Holdings) Ltd., a Hong Kong-based company. |

The facts are not showing Iloilo the chance to reclaim the title of "Queen City of the South". It's history. Metro Cebu has the fastest growing economy. Bacolod i think is better than Iloilo. |

I think that forumer is not active sa SSC coz he joined last Nov 2004 pa and 3 pa lang ang na post nya....
regarding my pic, we still can't conclude if the building is ugly or not coz it is still a skeleton, its a 36 storey building and it is still in its 5th floor construction....lets conclude if the building is completed already....kahit gaano kagandang building kung kinoconstruct pa lang tlagang ugly...
