Well if you take the history of releases of Simcity then you will find out that Simcity usually comes out after 4-5 years gap. So I think there is still time for Simcity 5 to come out as its only has been 2 or 2 and a half years or so.

I bet it'll be out in the later half of 2006!

I hope we can get inside the actual city and see them driving, see the workmen building the buildings like they're done in real life, see then shopping, going to work, et cetera.

Recieve proposals for landmarks (offices, airports, residentials etc) and have a choice to approve, cancel or re-design to the specifications we want to choose.

It will be good if we can get involved in the market more than just the RCI scale. Like trading and stuff.

And get news reports in a dialog, but a movie (like the news) that tells us things. example, if theres an explosion, or an econimic desaster, or a virus going round killing people.

Im gettin carried away, but i just cant wait for it to come out!!!

It might be possible that Simcity 5 comes out next christmas but we must keep in mind that the release date set for Spore is fall of 2006. So I doubt that they both could be released in such short time span....

There are 2 very important things that Sim City 5 needs

Better combatibility

More in-depth zoning, like zoning for manf,Hitech,Tall office, strip malls, and rowhomes.

Im still stuck with Sim City 3000...Sim City 4 doesn't work to well, or at least until I get a new computer. I hope Sim City 5 is more user friendly.

I hope SC5 is a lot easier on the PC, too. Seriously, I have a nice computer..but it just didn't work well. Once I reached a certain population, the time clock started to lag!

Why make it more computer friendly? If your stilling running a sub 1000 mhz processor with 256 megs or less or RAM, I say UPGRADE. The game shouldnt sacrifice quality when computer hardware such as 4 gig processors, 2 gigs of fast RAM, SLI 7800 GTX's, etc is out there, just so someone with a piece of junk computer can play it.

However, if they can keep the high graphics and include even more features and stuff, with a better maintaining of computer requirements, that'd be great. You could get a much better game for the same power requirements.

By the sounds of it, SC5 will likely have much more sophisticated coding than the previous versions. This alone may enable it to perform better, even on older machines. It might also be more modder-friendly, so the community can participate more in the development and refinement of the game post-release.

if it was up to the community im afraid it would look like the original Sim City. The required Video card should be somethin like the 9800 Pro/5900 Ultra/6600 GT. Especially since if there is a SC5 in the works, Xmas 2006 would be unlikely.
