I remember seeing ads for that apartment in the subways a while back. Pretty damn average, your typical apartment slab nothing to get excited about:

The Village @ Guildwood

Funny how the buiding isn't even in Guildwood (It's near it, but the area this building is in is VERY different, but they still advertise as Guildwood) lol.

I don't get the rendering though, they make it look as if the building is in the middle of a neighbourhood, when it's inbetween a triangle of very busy intersections (Mark & Eg, Kings & Eg, Mark and Kings), with dozens of highrises in the area.

Well the key is to showcase the condo...not the area around it....like look at the hummingbird renderings....look at the capital renderings

Next Context project, heads up by RJR123 on UT:

Quote:
I just received the latest "E-News" bulletin from Context, which provides brief updates on their projects. They are announcing an as-yet unnamed project to be launched in the New Year "in the heart of the King East Design District."
It will have over 200 suites. It will be in partnership with Architect Alliance, but no other details were provided.
Any speculation on location??

www.schoolhouselofts.ca

I saw the sign for this when I walked by Bloor/St.George today. I'm guessing that this would be a new low/mid-rise loft project in The Annex.

However, I am unable to browse the Empire Communities website for some reason (The content won't load) so I don't know any info about it.

(Old) Liberty Village Renderings and Info

http://www.ibigroup.com/case/liberty_village.html

Case Study: Toronto Waterfront
Liberty Village
Toronto, ON

Liberty Village is a 45-acre brownfield site located in the King Street West / Strachan Avenue area, immediately west of downtown Toronto. IBI Group Architects was retained to provide all planning and design work including:

Streets and blocks
Municipal infrastructure
Storm water management
Municipal approvals
Streetscape design
Parks and open space
Residential architecture
Retail/commercial architecture
The redevelopment of this site is seen as a major opportunity to create a significant new residential neighbourhood and associated employment space providing important “live-work” opportunities. Situated in the northern portion of the Garrison Common area, immediately north of Exhibition Place, these lands will play a strategic role in achieving City of Toronto policies related to residential intensification as well as embracing various smart growth initiatives. Specifically, this mixed-use development will offer this growing community new retail, office and high-tech type users, and approximately 2,000 residential units (contained in high-rise and townhouses forms), complete with streets and parks and related amenities

Quick Facts

Client: CanAlfa

Project Size: 45 acres
4,000 residential units
50,000 sm of retail

http://www.ibigroup.com/case/fleet_street.html

Case Study: Toronto Waterfront
Fleet Street
Toronto, ON

IBI Group was the prime consultant to The Molson Companies Limited respecting the redevelopment of its property at Fleet Street. This 13 acre site is located within the Garrison Common between Bathurst Street and Strachan Avenue. IBI Group services have included regulatory planning, urban design, civil engineering, architecture by IBI Group Architects and landscape architecture for this mixed-use development. Proposals for the site include the development of some 700,000 sq.ft. of employment space together with some 2.5 million sq.ft. of residential space to achieve a new prime residential neighbourhood and act as a catalyst to the regeneration of the larger area of the Garrison Common, as proposed by The Waterfront Regeneration Trust.

Quick Facts

Client: Molson Companies Limited

Project Size: 15 acres
3,500 residential units

I really don't like how all the buildings have the same style, and look like one giant development.

I think you mean translucent, which means light can go through it, but not shape. Opaque means no light gets through, transparent means the complete shape and the light can be seen through it. This project is transparent in the marketing renderings, but there's no way it can be like that in reality. Presumably there will be walls separating suites and rooms within them, meaning it probably won't look that much different from any other glass-clad condo in the city. Nevertheless, that doesn't mean it won't be a nice building.

My interpretation is that you're mostly seeing reflections of surrounding area buildings. Though you can see through the glass somewhat, I think it's more reflective than transparent.
