Yanshan-Fangshan (Yanfang line), Yancun Dong to Yanshan, 13.4 km, 9 stations. Also known as line 25 West, it is the first driverless line in Beijing. In the future it will include a branch to Zhoukoudian. The Fangshan line is extended one station and 2.3 km from Suzhuang to Yancun Dong, to 25.4 km and 12 stations.
Line S1, Jin'anqiao to Shichang, 8.3 km, 7 stations. Also know as the Mentougou maglev and line 26, it should not be confused with the Fuzhongxin commuter rail line (also designated line S1). For now isolated from the rest of the network, the final 1.6 km to Pingguoyuan will open sometime in 2018. This is the thrid maglev line to open in China after the Shanghai and Changsha lines.
Xijiao (or Western suburban) line, Bagou to Xiangshan, 8.6 km, 6 stops. The long awaited Western suburban line, previously planned as a full metro line, has been built as a tram line (as it has at-grade crossings), and thus it doesn't count to the metro total. This marks the return of tram service to Beijing after around 60 years (I'm not counting that thing in Qianmen).

In addition, two infill stations are added: Pingleyuan on line 14 East between Beigongda Ximen and Jiulongshan, and Nongda Nanlu on line 16 between Malianwa and Xiyuan.

This brings Beijing metro subway (heck, this is the only metro system in China not called "metro" in English) to 598 km. This would be the world's longest... if it weren't for Shanghai opening 66 km today too (putting that at 654 km), so it remains behind. It is, however, almost 200 km longer than the 3rd longest network (London).
Thank you for clarifying me the difference between those 3 new lines... do you have any updated map of the system???... I think I would go those lines this week!!!

It has overhead wires, so what's in the middle of the tracks?

Station flow limiting has been updated for 2018 and expanded up to 96 stations. There are now limiting measures on Line 1, Line 2, Line 4, Line 5, Line 6, Line 7, Line 8, Line 9, Line 10, Line 13, Line 14, Changping line, Yizhuang line, Daxing Line and Batong line. Line 5 and Daxing is particularly affected with 15 and 11 stations on those lines respectively, with flow restrictions at some point of the day.

This looks like Breda's "Tramwave" ground power supply system. Perhaps it didn't work and they've put up overhead wires.

Is it working properly in Zhuhai which is another city that used this system and there was a very long delay getting the tram into operation?

Uh. Four (three) times a day, that's impressive. The 6 line goes 20 times an hour, and 1/Batong roughly the same. Adding up the buses there would probably be more than one a minute (5-10 minutes interval for a particular line. And they are all overfilled, except some evening and midday buses, and those against the commute direction (which is Tongzhou-Beijing until noon, Beijing-Tongzhou afternoon and evening). Speaking of which, only one of the four actually goes in the commute direction, S102/S107.

Speed is not all that great either. It takes 48 minutes Tongzhou-Beijing West. A comparable distance on the 6 line, Caofang-Huayuanqiao, takes 53 minutes.

Sour grapes aside, it's always good to have choice. The Beijing and particularly Beijing West stations are not so convenient to get to otherwise (then again for most in Tongzhou, the Tongzhou railway station isn't all that easy to get to either).

But if they can offer a reserved seat, the rarest of all commodities on that commute, it may be worth it.

Peak inbound is westbound in the morning and peak outbound is eastbound in the afternoon? Is there a reason that's the case?

While it may change eventually, the city plan of Beijing is very traditional. The jobs are in the city centre, while people live at ever-increasing distances from the centre.

Tongzhou har recently become "sub-administrative center" and a day may come when Tongzhou will have net inflow, but it is not this day. Today it is a dormitory town. And the inflow, as today, is likely to come from places like Yanjiao (Hebei) further to the east, while people in Tongzhou would be far more likely to commute towards Guomao or the inner city than the other way around.

This applies to all the other towns and suburbs around central Beijing, only worse when it comes to the inflow. The east is more busy than the west.
