Good job! The country can build the Great Wall, for sure can build anything else.
But the question is both Shanghai and Beijing claim that their subway system will be the world's longest, whcih one can be trusted though?
Allow me to quote yesterday's news from the leading Chinese financial magazine 'caijing' magazine, http://www.caijing.com.cn/2009-01-15/110048131.html, the article shows that Shanghai's subway will be the world's longest by the year 2012, as it will reach the distance as long as 560km.

they were not taken during the rush hour,so they look nice and clean.during the rush hour they would be overwhelmed by the crowd.

yes, the reports from the two rival cities always contradict each other, and shanghai just got the go ahead of the disney theme park, and just two days after the news, beijing says it secured the uiversal studio theme park to be built in beijing.to much competition amonst chinese cities, beijing ,shanghai,hongkong,guangzhou,shenzhen....

This photo is from Hong Kong, not Beijing. It's the pedestrian connection between the Airport Express and MTR Central station.

Other than that, great photos.

Fantastic subway system! Very clean and modern. Well, if anywhere can build the world's longest subway system then it's China that's for sure!

Yes, this is what I thought as well. It's the Hong Kong Station to Central Station pedestrian connection.

Otherwise, the stations look absolutely terrific. They really improved station design over the ones in Hong Kong even though the basic design influences are obvious.

Currently Guangzhou's subway is longer than Beijing's, only behind Shanghai. Guangzhou's subway will exceed 600km in the long term.

Are you sure Beijing's subway will be longest in 2015?
