Sure, but the "can reach ..." is not very interesting unless you are a metro train driver, and since most metros are underground you won't even enjoy the scenery. The average (or actual) speed is where it is at, and there is a trade-off between getting to somewhere far away fast and having frequent stops that stop where you want to stop. A line like 21 would be more of the former, and a line like 7 more of the latter.

Beijing has the largest metro system on capital city of Asia. With a dense network of 15 metro lines, we can't even imagine it in India !!!!!!! Great Beijing!!

Beginning was slow, but now they are constructing metro lines at lighting speed!!!

I made a new schematic map of Beijing subway network.

All lines are represented, stations are labelled in Chinese and English.
I tried to make it as symmetrical and harmonious as possible but still small enough to be printed on 20cmx20cm

You can see it in better resolution on

Line 8 runs between Zhuxinzhuang (not Gonghuacheng as it seems in the map) and Nanluoguxiang now AFAIK. And how about to make Daxing line the same color as line 4 to reflect they have thru-service?

@CNGL

You are right, I didn't udate line 8 extensions. Done.

I changed Daixing line color to the same as line 4, since there is no service limited to Daixing line it should really be considered an integral part of line 4.

That's confusing. So what's the point of dividing the - in fact- one line into two different on the map?

It's even more confusing - the lines have through service, but interchange? It doesnt make sense. So what's the pattern of the through service? Every second train from line 4 continues past its terminus untill Tiangognyuan?

Not exactly, they use a similar looking type of rolling stock. Both rolling stock don't even share the same loading gauge. Beijing's is Type A and Harbin is Type B.

@Falubaz

According to Wikipedia (I don't live in Beijing so this is my source of information) there are 2 different services on 4/Daxing line:

"- A full-route loop that covers the entire Line 4 and Daxing Lines. "
"- A partial-route loop that covers the entire Line 4 route plus one stop on the Daxing Line."

Line 4 and Daxing line effectively form a single line for the users, they just have to choose the right train if they want to go past Xingong.

If they choose the wrong train they can "interchange", which means wait for the right train on the same platform.

EDIT:

I changed the labeling on the map to reflect the fact that for the users line4 /Daxing line is actually a single line with 2 different terminal stations on the southern end. Xingong station is labelled as terminal, not transfer.

Now the representation is consistent with Shanghai line 3 which has the same service pattern.

I have said it before but I think the stress on the 9 line is going to be immense. There are massive housing developments in Fangshan, and 9 will be downstream of the Fangshan and Yanfang lines, with no relief in sight, unlike Tiantongyuan, Tongzhou, Changping, even Yizhuang.

Was there any specific reason for record that day? It was not the Tomb Sweeping Day yet?

Even assuming all Fangshan line passengers transfer to Line 9 it seems the bulk of Line 9's ridership is from the urban core. Its probably reliving Line 10.
