That's so true. I know that I view Manchester with a critical eye, probably because I've been here so long and I want it to improve constantly. I'm not always aware of doing this though.

Kebabmonster....you'll forget all about that once Albany and Eastgate get going

I was in Manchester shopping a coupla weekends ago and beetham was looking great. There is quite a good view of it from the street between Marks' and Harvey Nicks. It certainly does appear everywhere.

I had a weird dream last night involving a race around Manchester against one of my university buddies. The finish line was at the top of the still uncomplete Beetham (Hilton) tower. Naturally I won but as I reached the top the building started to lean and fall, it was made of cardboard! I woke up just before I hit the floor...

Went through town the opposite way today

Interesting how the openings in the core have changed

dj, I'm having real trouble loading your images. They don't like me man.

And the different openings correspond with the floors where the larger flats are.

Bloody hell, here's something freaky.

Last week I took the exact same photo as your first one dj, from Withington Road. And mine also had a police horse walking on the same bit of road!

Why do the lamp posts in the first picture go concrete, steel, concrete, steel?

Was stood on top of the truck trying to get a bit more Beetham in shot when those two crept up behind me (horses, creep?) Didn't half get a funny look.

Oh i know...it's probably the best vantage point i've seen of town!
It was just things like the lighting and mood that don't seem very Manchester on it...so they're pleasantly surprising.
