i cant wait to see how the saphire tower looks on its way up...soo excited...its most probably the ONLY project im excited about...its just soo different!

The meeting was only a public consultation. The City won't be looking at it until early 2006.

edit:
Also, there was no one in opposition to the tower present at the meeting. There were a number of UrbanToronto members present and everyone seemed for the development.

Where do u guys get your information from/how do you know all these things?

and

I thought the sapphire building was already approved. ... am i wrong?

Sapphire is not approved. The building they had previously proposed (Downtown Plaza) for the site was. A while back it applied for approval at 81 floors but has since revised it's plan to be 90 floors and needs to go through the approval process. Hopefully that'll happen early 2006.

I hate to pestimestic.....I hate it..... but with Sapphire, I have to be. Even if it gets approved, will it get built?? I will be happy when I see the ball/spire go on top of the tower

I thought I saw Cassius mention he was working on some renderings for it last week. However, I think he also mentioned the last set of changes were only minor so it probably looks pretty much the same as the last rendering.

Yes, the renderings do look pretty much the same since it was only minor changes in design. I'll see if they'll allow me to post some of the images and animations when I next speak with them.
