Arena Central Tower (Birmingham)

Usherling

Hi I flicked through this Area of the Website and noticed no bleeding Birmingham buildings. Palease. lol.

I am to kick off with an amazing building that IS planned to be built in Birmingham the tallest the spectacular the jaw-dropping, the tall the mother of all skyscrapers outside London Arena Central Tower.

Now i'm sure you have seen the few pics of Arena Central if not you are about to.

Could someone please tell me where this view is from. I have no idea.

A view from Gas Street Basin onto Holloway Circus . I was drinking a pint at a pup there th other day trying to imagine the view of it been there. I wet myself thinking abhout it.lol.

My fav view, the pic maybe small but it's alright.

A Beautiful Night View From Gas Street Again.

A view from avery popular and busy square Victoria Square

Just the domed building

The inside has been very quite in my terms. But here for you I have tracked down the inside of the buidling and it is most impressive and funky and modern. It is know as the Atrium.

So fabulous isn't it. Now a day time on but from a different view.

Thank You, please if you pop into this page just post a comment and vote I need all your opinions on this.

Usherling.

BUT

It looks like something big will be built there as the developer wants 2000 (or 2500?) residential units on the site, 500 of which in a tower...

Well according to the building criteria thread this can "take your fave buildings and post pictures of them whether they are brand new buildings or ancient ones, unbuilt renderings or never build images. "

So we can vote on this one...

Personally I think it's wonderful, the way it matches the Alpha Tower and also totally overpowers it, but in a good way.

Won't be built though...

soooooo has it been built yet ? pah

back in 2003 this was the single most exciting project for me in the whole of the UK...This one project had the ability to transform Birmingham city centre.

im off to erect the rendering full size in the right spot..

Hi USHERLING NOT LADINGHAM

I found out the Architect whent on there official website and the original desighn is stll on there

*ooooohhhh* I said drearily.

So we have to wait and be patience, very patience. As BC said the new tower will be bettwer with more of a modern desighn to it it will give some spark, hopefully a huge project it will become that will put Birmingham on the map of not only Europe but the world as a Skyscraper city.

*Excellent* in Burns voice

Hopefully this will happen and with the huge amount of develpoment going on around that area, Tramps Tower (as it is called now) Orion Building, HCT, Mailbox wich is beautiful the Cube Postbox blah blah, hah in your Face you Mancs

Just Am very looking forward to the new desighn and if it is rubbish I am going to start a patition

*Are You with me* * To War*

Hah in your face Mancs?

Nah, you don't want to start anything between Brum and Manc(or even Leeds) in terms of future skyscrapers right now, because there would only be one winner, I think most of the Brum lot would agree with this.

It's been built, and now we're disassembling it to replace it with a car park

(note the following is a joke and not an Invetation to Earlybird to get his statistics out)

We all agree they'll only be one winner, but what we won't agree about is WHO that winner is.

Don't mention it. Hmm..

Anyway, http://www.skyscrapercity.com/forumd...5&daysprune=-1

And around there (and there about) has some Birmingham "Skyscrapers", they don't get rather high scores, probably because by Global scales they're all shrimps and/or mostly rather ugly 60/70 things.

Same goes for most of the non-London cities to be honest...

I don't know if there's a HCT poll yet, Someone less lazy than me need to make one now it's (almost) finished.

It won't be a larger tower. This one at the start of this thread is a 187m beast.

You've seen the plans then?

The point of this thread is to rate the original design, as we can (I repeat, again)

"take your fave buildings and post pictures of them whether they are brand new buildings or ancient ones, unbuilt renderings or never build images. "

All the rest is
