Not bad. The circular form of the tower responds well to the traffic circle it will sit next to. Notice how they mention Cesar Pelli & Associates in the marketing materials. It's becoming more and more common to use a famous architect's name to help sell a project. Perhaps we're entering an era where the general public is more concerned and more aware of architecture in general.

This is just and amazing project for Mexico City, that avenue is increasing its number of skyscrapers, and this one is awesome, specially because of its design. Who's the the architect???.
There's one building in La Defense which has a pretty similar design.

^ There are definiely some similarities. Tour EDF in La Defense was designed by Harry Cobb of Pei, Cobb & Freed Partners, and he designed a similar tower that just opened up in Chicago. Great design.

Oh, and sdtj, the name of the tower is St. Regis, not St. Reggis. Might want to edit the title of the thread.

I read this in Latin Forum:

Get ready to pack your Louis Vuitton and head to Mexico City. Starwood Hotels & Resorts has just announced plans to build the first St. Regis in Latin America.

Jeez. First W, then the NFL, and now St. Regis. Mexico City hasn't been this hot since Montezuma II was ruling the roost back in the 1500's.

Whether or not you can afford the St. Regis, it will undoubtedly be a landmark. Architect Cesar Pelli, who designed the taller-than-Sears-Tower (1,483-foot) Petronas Towers in Malaysia as well as the Torre de Cristal in Barcelona, will design this hot spot. The combination of Pelli, the St. Regis brand, and interior designed with Yabu Pushelberg's contemporary touch should make this 180-room hotel an experience in Latin luxury.

Just think - if you start saving now, by 2007 you could be one of the first to test the sheets.

I am very glad that a great country like Mexico is increasing its talls with high quality designs.
